Job description

About HealthCorps

HealthCorps is a nationwide nonprofit focused on enhancing lives by tackling health issues within communities through innovative programs centered on education, leadership, and service learning. The organization empowers teenagers to become influential figures in their families, schools, and communities, operating under the premise that lack of access to health education can cause lifelong social, emotional, and physical difficulties.

Position Overview

HealthCorps is establishing a new Growth & Strategic Partnerships Division and seeks a Vice President to lead this initiative. This role encompasses a wide range of high-impact responsibilities, including managing national funder and strategic partnerships, overseeing development, grant management, fundraising, branding, marketing, alumni engagement, community involvement, and hub partnership growth. The VP will collaborate with a national team and program managers across hubs to build and execute this vision.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP will maintain their own partnership portfolio while working closely with leadership to meet revenue and growth targets. The role involves representing HealthCorps externally at donor meetings, funder gatherings, and industry events, requiring a versatile leader skilled in both prospecting and team coaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve alongside the CEO as a primary external relationship manager, cultivating connections with health systems, corporate sponsors, school districts, foundations, and community entities.
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive partnership strategy aligning funder priorities with organizational growth objectives across grant, sponsorship, and programmatic relationships.
  • Maintain and expand a pipeline of partnership prospects from initial contact to qualification.
  • Enhance loyalty and value with existing partners to drive renewals and upgrades.
  • Monitor funding trends to keep HealthCorps ahead of market changes.
  • Manage the full sales cycle for mid-tier and emerging partnerships, including outreach, negotiation, and activation.
  • Create impactful pitches, proposals, and grant applications based on HealthCorps’ data and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to secure significant sponsorships for major fundraisers and programming at national and local levels.
  • Demonstrate continuous value to partners through excellent stewardship connecting them to the mission and measurable impacts.
  • Set strategic brand direction and oversee marketing efforts including social media, websites, newsletters, and press with leadership of the Marketing Manager.
  • Lead brand and communications strategies that build awareness and trust among funders, partners, and the public.
  • Develop engaging partner-facing materials like decks, impact reports, and stakeholder communications that reflect organizational quality.
  • Represent HealthCorps at conferences, sector events, and media engagements alongside executive leaders.
  • Establish and engage local advisory committees linking HealthCorps to civic, educational, and philanthropic leaders in partnership with Alumni & Community Manager and Program Directors.
  • Increase HealthCorps’ visibility and partnerships in each market through collaborative event planning and relationship building with local teams.
  • Cultivate and activate an alumni network as a strategic community through advisory roles, volunteer opportunities, and local partnerships.
  • Lead and mentor a division team including Senior Manager of Development, Marketing Manager, part-time Director of Events, and Alumni & Community Manager.
  • Model hands-on leadership while maintaining own partnership portfolio and guiding team members toward revenue and relationship goals.
  • Track and report division KPIs on pipeline, revenue, and brand performance to the CEO and Board, ensuring measurable returns on investment.
  • Manage division budget and contribute to strategic planning as part of the leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public health, communications, marketing, or a related discipline is required.
  • At least seven years of professional experience in strategic partnerships, business development, sales, or revenue-generating roles, with a proven record of successfully closing and managing high-value relationships across sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams while managing individual partnership portfolios.
  • Excellent presentation and pitching skills comfortable in various settings including boardrooms and funder meetings.
  • Experience setting brand strategy and leading communications to translate complex outcomes into compelling external stories.
  • Exceptional written communication skills for proposals, narratives, and impact reporting.
  • Familiarity with health systems, corporate social responsibility, education, or youth-serving sectors; experience working with health systems or school districts is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-growing environment, building systems from the ground up.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and a data-informed approach to pipeline and relationship management.
  • Strong commitment to near-peer mentorship, health equity, and youth development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, health systems, corporate social responsibility, or youth-serving organizations, whether nonprofit or for-profit.
  • Demonstrated success in growing revenue through client, sponsor, or partner relationship-building; philanthropic fundraising experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience establishing advisory boards, community engagement structures, or local steering committees.
  • Ability to apply commercial business development skills within a mission-driven nonprofit context.
  • Advanced degree, such as a Master’s or equivalent training.
