Role Summary
The organization seeks a seasoned engineering executive to oversee technical, operational, and human resources leadership across Components Engineering manufacturing operations. The role demands ownership of engineering strategy, high-quality execution, and capability augmentation. It requires close collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Business units to achieve world-class operational outcomes at scale. This senior position balances strategic leadership with on-the-ground involvement, driving results via team management, implementing effective systems, and enforcing disciplined processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct engineering results across assigned manufacturing domains, ensuring alignment with business goals related to quality, cost-efficiency, delivery, and scalability.
- Develop and implement the engineering roadmap focusing on enhancing process capabilities, boosting yields, and reinforcing operational stability.
- Serve as the technical leader and escalation contact point for complex manufacturing and quality-related issues.
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams to maintain stable mass production, swiftly address issues, and foster continual improvements.
- Implement structured problem-solving approaches to mitigate chronic losses, resolve customer complaints, and manage operational risks.
- Oversee rigorous governance concerning process changes, new product introduction (NPI) readiness, validation procedures, and comprehensive documentation.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop dynamic engineering teams emphasizing a strong ownership culture.
- Establish clear priorities, performance benchmarks, and succession planning for engineering personnel.
- Promote a workplace culture grounded in accountability, safety, teamwork, and ongoing learning.
- Collaborate extensively with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, NPI, and Business stakeholders to ensure harmonized execution.
- Facilitate customer interactions, audits, and technical evaluations, reinforcing trust in Tata Electronics' Components Engineering strengths.
- Engage with suppliers and partners for technical assessments, certifications, and advances.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, safety guidelines, and legal standards.
- Champion audit preparedness and address systemic issues within Components Engineering operations.
- Review operational metrics regularly and lead management discussions grounded in data analytics.
Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of Component Engineering processes.
- Expertise in fixture design and precision CNC machining techniques.
- Experience with automation technologies and integration in manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in anodizing and chemical processing methods.
- Skilled in tool room management and mold design/manufacturing.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electronics, or related fields.
- Advanced certifications and familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies are favorable.
Professional Experience
- Extensive leadership background in Components Engineering, electronics manufacturing, OEM/ODM sectors, or precision manufacturing settings.
- Proven success in managing teams, scaling manufacturing operations, and achieving measurable enhancements in yield, quality, costs, or operational productivity.
- Experience operating within high-volume, high-variety production environments is highly desirable.
