Job description

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Equipment Engineer to join our team at Tata Electronics in Mayang, Assam. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of equipment such as Ball attach, Die attach, vacuum ovens, and FOL processes. The engineer will also support process improvements, root cause analysis, and training activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support preventive maintenance for equipment, handle major breakdowns, update related documentation, and assist new product introduction setups and conversions.
  • Carry out installations, system upgrades, continuous improvements, and modifications on equipment.
  • Manage preventive maintenance activities ensuring completion within scheduled time frames to achieve targets like MTBA, OEE, MTBF, and MTTR.
  • Meet the PM success rate goal of three lots monitoring with 60-minute MTBA.
  • Revise preventive maintenance checklists based on lessons learned from major equipment failures.
  • Possess strong hands-on skills with mentioned equipment to minimize downtime effectively.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and process mapping for line quality issues; implement containment measures and report outcomes to supervisors.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory, track non-stock or critical items, and alert supervisors when replenishment is required.
  • Oversee equipment wiring management and ensure 5S standards are maintained in the process area and on machines.
  • Facilitate clear communication and information transfer during shift handovers regarding preventive maintenance.
  • Participate in internal and external mentoring and vendor training programs to enhance technical expertise.
  • Ensure specification compliance and execute OCAP procedures for machine troubleshooting as delegated by sustain teams; perform equipment calibrations as required.
  • Serve as Emergency Response Team (ERT) shift representative for assigned equipment and processes.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Lead and supervise a maintenance group effectively.
  • Prepare detailed technical failure reports on equipment or products, including 8D problem-solving documentation covering problem statement, root cause, containment, corrective, and preventive actions.
  • Coach and conduct soft skills and equipment training across levels L1 to L5 for junior staff.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must hold a degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
