Job description
Job Summary
This position supports the Volunteer Management Manager and the Head of Department in planning and delivering the operations of the Partnerships, Communications and Fundraising team. The main emphasis is on improving volunteer management, while also contributing to fundraising, communications, and events in line with the organisation’s strategic direction.
Working alongside the Volunteer Management Manager and the Head of Department, the role helps strengthen the systems and processes across Volunteer Management, Fundraising, Media & Communications, and other assigned projects.
The role requires strong collaboration across functions and effective stakeholder management. By partnering with senior leadership, internal teams, and external stakeholders, the executive helps ensure work is delivered to a high standard and organisational goals are met within agreed scope, timelines, and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Assist in shaping and rolling out Epworth’s volunteer strategy so it supports the organisation’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities.
- Manage key volunteer activities such as recruitment, engagement, retention, and recognition in accordance with organisational needs.
- Contribute to the review and ongoing refinement of volunteer policies and operating processes, including training, development, programme evaluation, feedback collection, and continuous improvement of volunteer-led services.
- Help put volunteer risk controls and business continuity plans into action.
- Use IT platforms and digital tools to support volunteer data management, analysis, and measurement of impact.
- Assist in building and maintaining partnerships with SSAs, community stakeholders, corporate partners, and government agencies to strengthen volunteer participation.
- Track volunteer management trends and new best practices, and turn those insights into practical and innovative engagement approaches.
- Help plan and execute training programmes that build volunteer capability and improve engagement and retention.
- Work with all departments to coordinate volunteer requirements and contributions.
- Compile statistics and handle related administrative work.
- Partner with the Media & Communications and Donor Management teams to support marketing activities and fundraising efforts such as events and engagement sessions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mass Communication, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience in volunteer management is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of the social service and/or non-profit sector.
- Genuine interest in community-focused work.
- Self-driven and comfortable working outside regular office hours when required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Able to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Collaborative team player.
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management, planning, and organisational abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects at the same time.
- Confident in engaging stakeholders at different levels and capable of corporate pitching.
- Meticulous, accurate, adaptable, and able to perform well under tight deadlines.
Additional Information
This is a full-time onsite role based in Bukit Batok, West Region, Singapore.
The position may require work outside office hours on occasion.
