Foster Care Engagement Officer

About the Role

The Engagement Officer will be central to building awareness of fostering in the community and supporting the search and evaluation of prospective foster parents. This role is ideal for someone dedicated, enthusiastic, and driven to contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing of children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Organise, coordinate, and deliver outreach activities aimed at attracting new foster parents.
• Spot suitable channels and partnership opportunities that can strengthen the Fostering Agency’s outreach work.
• Develop and produce communication materials that help educate the public about fostering.
• Respond to public questions about the Fostering Scheme and carry out assessments for foster parent applicants.
• Partner closely with the Senior Recruitment Officer and other members of the fostering agency team.

Requirements

• Confident written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
• Hands-on knowledge of social media management and design software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Previous exposure to project coordination or event planning would be an advantage.
• Comfortable working both independently and within a team.
• Willingness to work on weekends and evenings when necessary, with time off provided in return.

Qualifications

A diploma is the minimum qualification required, and having at least 2 years of experience in the social service sector is preferred.
