Role Overview

Join the Richard Hadlee Retirement Village team in Christchurch as a Village Lifestyle Coordinator, where your efforts directly enrich the lives of older adults. This full-time, Monday to Friday position from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM offers a rewarding opportunity to create a vibrant, engaging community environment starting from late September 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and deliver a variety of stimulating activities, outings, celebrations, and social events to foster a welcoming and lively community atmosphere.
• Promote active participation among residents to cultivate strong social bonds and a sense of belonging.
• Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with residents, their families, and local organizations.
• Handle event logistics including bookings, budget management, communication, attendance tracking, and maintaining activity schedules.
• Complete necessary administrative duties comprising reporting and documentation to support smooth program execution.
• Support resident independence and wellbeing through inclusive and thoughtful programs.
• Collaborate with the wider village and resident experience teams to enhance the overall community engagement and resident satisfaction.

Candidate Profile

• Personable and approachable with a natural aptitude for building connections.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and administrative tasks simultaneously.
• Comfortable working with various computer systems and proficient in preparing reports and communication materials.
• Excellent communication abilities paired with a positive, professional demeanor.
• Driven by a passion for improving the quality of life for senior residents.
• Background in events management, hospitality, community engagement, recreation, administration, or customer service will be advantageous but is not mandatory.
