About the role
This freelance opportunity is for a Germany-based video producer who will help create a series of high-quality educational videos for software professionals. The work centers on turning prepared learning content into polished training material that is clear, engaging, and visually strong. You will collaborate with an instructional design specialist and contribute both creative and technical production expertise to deliver a strong learner experience.
The project includes narrated coding walkthroughs, animated slide-based lessons, and fully edited instructional modules. It is well suited to an experienced producer who enjoys technical subject matter and wants to shape learning content for a global audience.
Key responsibilities
- Develop an end-to-end set of instructional videos using prebuilt educational material, scripts, and technical reference documents.
- Record clean, high-quality screen captures of coding examples, terminal usage, and software processes with attention to clarity and accessibility.
- Build and refine animated presentation slides, including voiceover synchronization and visually engaging supporting elements.
- Handle the full post-production workflow, covering editing, audio cleanup, graphics placement, chapter navigation, lower-third text, timestamps, and final quality checks.
- Work closely with learning stakeholders so the videos remain aligned with the intended outcomes and technical accuracy.
- Ensure narration, chapter markers, transcripts, and metadata match the demonstrations and supporting materials.
- Support subject matter experts during recording sessions so presentations are delivered clearly and effectively.
- Provide the finished training videos together with all source files and production assets in line with project expectations and deadlines.
Requirements
- Background in creating professional e-learning, software training, or technical educational videos.
- Strong command of screen recording, video editing, motion graphics, and post-production processes.
- Ability to interpret code, software demos, and technical documentation accurately enough to keep the final content consistent.
- Experience coaching or directing presenters and subject matter experts during recording.
- Hands-on familiarity with tools such as Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Audition, Descript, OBS, or similar software.
- Experience preparing transcripts, captions, chapter markers, and video metadata.
- Access to licensed production software and the ability to independently manage the required production setup.
- Strong planning and coordination skills to manage deliverables, timelines, revisions, and feedback.
- Excellent communication and a sharp eye for detail across the whole production cycle.
- Availability to support delivery within the planned production schedule.
Perks and benefits
- Flexible freelance arrangement with remote working freedom.
- Chance to contribute to a large-scale professional certification and technical education program.
- Creative control over the production workflow and choice of tools.
- Collaboration with experienced instructional design and technical content experts.
- Exposure to modern software training content and developer-focused learning material.
- A clearly defined scope with scripts, content, and supporting resources already in place.
- Opportunity to strengthen your portfolio with professionally produced technical education work.
- Independent working style with flexibility to organize your own schedule and production approach.
