Role Overview

Hofstra University is seeking a Vice Provost dedicated to enhancing undergraduate education and advancing student achievement. This leadership position demands expertise in academic affairs and a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

Qualifications

• Possess a terminal degree such as a Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent in an academic field.
• Hold experience as a tenured faculty member, ideally at the Professor level.
• Have at least three years in leadership roles related to academic affairs, undergraduate education, student success, advising, or similar fields.
• Proven track record of leading efforts that enhance student retention, persistence, timely graduation, and overall educational outcomes.
• Proficiency in curriculum design, academic policy management, accreditation processes, assessment, and shared governance frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to lead with a student-focused approach, promote diversity and inclusion, and collaborate across organizational units.
• Strong capabilities in analysis, communication, strategic planning, and building consensus among diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Leadership in institution-wide initiatives aimed at student success.
• Oversight of advising systems, academic support services, or undergraduate academic affairs.
• Knowledge of predictive analytics tools, student success technologies, and using data to inform decisions.
• Promotion of interdisciplinary education, experiential learning opportunities, undergraduate research, and engagement with the community.
• Commitment to advancing innovative teaching and learning practices.
