Job description

Role Summary

The Dean of Faculty serves as the academic leader, responsible for managing academic programs, fostering faculty development, and guaranteeing outstanding educational experiences. This pivotal role involves setting strategic academic goals and maintaining exemplary educational standards to shape the institution's future.

Key Duties

  • Ensure all programs exceed accreditation benchmarks: Completion rates surpassing 50% (NACCAS) or 60% (COE), a minimum of 70% job placement annually, and at least a 70% licensure exam pass rate with a goal of 90% for graduates.
  • Equip students to be career-ready through faculty oversight and curriculum support, while collaborating with Career Services to manage student issues, including externship supervision.
  • Maintain clean and welcoming facilities including classrooms and common areas.
  • Respond to faculty concerns within 24-48 hours promptly.
  • Oversee faculty recruitment, coaching, development, retention, and accountability, including conducting bi-monthly classroom observations and providing coaching feedback.
  • Provide comprehensive faculty training on policies, safety, and professional development ensuring completion of required hours annually.
  • Facilitate monthly faculty meetings with proper documentation and ensure faculty conduct employer site visits twice yearly.
  • Ensure curriculum adherence, timely update rollouts, adequate classroom equipment, and necessary supplies inventory.
  • Manage faculty schedules and payroll compliance, maintaining proper instructor-to-student ratios.
  • Participate in institutional meetings, including advisory committee meetings and accreditation discussions, and submit required reports such as monthly Completion Projection Reports.
  • Uphold HR procedures for hiring, onboarding, evaluations (90% completion rate), and terminations following institutional guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent minimum requirement.
  • At least three years’ experience in academic leadership or teaching roles, preferably within post-secondary education.
  • Licensure in cosmetology or relevant fields is preferred, along with teaching experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A commitment to student success and a customer-focused approach.
  • Results-driven mindset with ethical conduct aligning with core values such as accountability, integrity, growth, service, and communication.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and openness to learning new educational technology platforms.
  • Capacity to mentor and train faculty in instructional methods, policies, and use of educational tools.
