About the Opportunity
Join an esteemed venture capital firm known for its strong track record supporting visionary founders who create category-leading companies. The organisation is celebrated for its conviction-driven investment philosophy, sector-focused expertise, and active partnership style, engaging entrepreneurs from early growth through scaling stages. Emphasising a collaborative, founder-focused culture, it combines thorough analysis, thematic specialisation, and a global approach to identify, invest in, and nurture future market leaders on behalf of its partners and investors.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Vice President to be part of the New York Venture Capital team, taking leadership responsibility across the entire investment lifecycle. This role is a strategic and influential position designed for a commercially savvy investor to lead deal execution, cultivate sourcing relationships, and influence portfolio management. You will collaborate closely with Partners and Principals, providing the analytical and strategic foundation for new investments and acting as a key liaison for portfolio founders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment of prospective investments, handling financial analyses, market sizing exercises, and return projections for both early and growth-stage opportunities.
- Manage end-to-end due diligence processes, covering product evaluations, market analysis, competitive landscape, and technical reviews while coordinating with external experts and internal teams.
- Drive deal sourcing by nurturing relationships with founders, operators, angel investors, and co-investors, while developing insight into emerging sectors and investment themes.
- Prepare and deliver clear, well-evidenced investment committee reports and steer internal discussions to support decision-making.
- Provide post-investment support to portfolio companies involving strategic advice, talent acquisition, additional fundraising, and key operational initiatives, frequently taking on board or observer roles.
Candidate Profile
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience typically derived from venture capital, growth equity, investment banking, management consulting, or dynamic startup/operating roles.
- Proven expertise in financial modelling, valuation, analytical reasoning, combined with strong commercial intuition and pattern recognition aptitude.
- Demonstrated capacity to independently lead deals and manage multiple complex projects in a high-velocity environment.
- Exceptional communication and relationship management abilities with credibility to engage confidently with founders, senior colleagues, and external partners.
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable discipline.
Why Join This Team?
- Assume a senior leadership role at an actively performing venture capital platform with a history of backing market winners.
- Gain direct involvement in high-profile live deals and influence portfolio strategy, with a clear trajectory towards Partnership.
- Exposure to a diverse array of sectors, investment stages, and innovative business models.
- Work within a collaborative culture that values conviction, initiative, and independent thought prioritising founders.
- Competitive remuneration including substantial carried interest within a respected, top-tier organisation.
