Job description

Role overview

The Vice President of the Transformation Management Office will drive major enterprise change across People & Culture’s most important initiatives. Acting as the central coordination point for transformation, this leader will make sure complex cross-functional efforts are aligned, sequenced, and executed in a way that produces clear business outcomes.

This position is less about directly owning every initiative and more about orchestrating the full portfolio—connecting teams, identifying dependencies, speeding up decisions, and clearing obstacles. The role will help build transformation at scale by introducing agile, AI-enabled ways of working along with strong processes for intake, prioritization, governance, and escalation.

The role is highly visible and requires close partnership with senior leaders across HR, Workforce Technology, Finance, and business functions. The successful candidate will balance strategic thinking with disciplined execution and ensure every transformation priority supports Disney’s broader business strategy.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish, launch, and manage the TMO as the central enterprise hub for transformation efforts.
  • Coordinate and connect initiatives across the business so priorities are clear and work is sequenced effectively.
  • Define operating rhythms, decision rights, escalation routes, and governance forums that keep progress moving.
  • Introduce transformation practices that are more agile and scalable than traditional governance models.
  • Bring an external perspective on transformation trends, AI, and evolving operating models.
  • Convert strategic goals into detailed workplans with owners, milestones, dependencies, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Identify risks and overlap early, then drive practical actions to reduce them.
  • Create integrated roadmaps that show progress, tradeoffs, risks, and where leadership input is needed.
  • Guide executive decision-making on funding, scope, and resource tradeoffs.
  • Design and run governance meetings with the right agenda, supporting material, and decision context.
  • Keep leadership discussions centered on choices, risks, value, and accountability rather than routine status updates.
  • Support changes to operating models, AI-enabled ways of working, and leadership behaviors.
  • Strengthen adoption through stakeholder engagement, communications, readiness checks, feedback loops, and change management plans.
  • Promote a culture built on prioritization, accountability, and enterprise-wide thinking.
  • Define value clearly and measure business impact, adoption, ROI, and benefits realization over time.
  • Use review cycles, course corrections, and decision checkpoints to sustain momentum.
  • Put dashboards, tools, and frameworks in place to monitor progress, adoption, benefits, and risks.
  • Partner with senior leaders across HR, Workforce Technology, Finance, Operations, and Corporate Functions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to transformation sponsors and executive stakeholders.
  • Use structured engagement sessions, working meetings, and executive pre-briefs to clarify ownership, resolve dependencies, and build alignment before formal decisions.
  • Work with external consultants, vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Build and lead a high-performing TMO team with strong talent development, coaching, and growth opportunities.
  • Create repeatable routines, templates, and standards that make execution easier and more scalable.
  • Partner with Internal Communications and People Analytics to reinforce adoption and measure impact.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring significant experience leading large-scale, modern, AI-powered transformation efforts in complex matrixed organizations. Prior responsibility for a TMO, PMO, or similar transformation function is important, along with a history of driving change across people, process, and technology.

Success in this role also requires experience working with senior executives and leading governance forums. A management consulting background is strongly preferred.

Required experience

  • Demonstrated leadership on large, enterprise-wide transformations that use modern and AI-enabled approaches.
  • Background building or running a TMO, PMO, or comparable transformation organization.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional change across people, process, and technology.
  • Experience advising senior executives and facilitating governance forums.

Preferred experience

  • Exposure to agile portfolio management and OKR-based value realization methods.
  • Experience in future-of-work or workforce transformation programs.
  • Management consulting experience is strongly desirable.

Leadership capabilities

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills.
  • Enterprise-level thinking and systems perspective.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strategic judgment paired with solid operational discipline.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Capability to drive hard prioritization and tradeoff choices.
  • Resilience, flexibility, and strong change leadership.
  • Working fluency with AI concepts and applications.
  • Data-informed decision-making.
  • Action-oriented mindset with a focus on simplification and measurable results.

Education

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
