Job description

Overview

This leadership role is responsible for steering and evolving Disney’s enterprise Vendor Management Office (VMO) for technology suppliers. The position sets the direction, operating structure, and accountability model for the company’s most strategic third-party technology relationships.

Reporting into the VP, Technology Strategy within Enterprise Technology & Data, the role is expected to expand a disciplined VMO capability that improves governance, commercial discipline, service quality, and risk control across Disney’s worldwide technology environment.

It is a high-visibility executive position that works closely with Technology, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and senior business leaders. The role is central to managing a major area of investment: external technology partnerships. Success in this role will help Disney deliver stronger value, better operational resilience, and sustained technological competitiveness.

What the role will do

  • Define the enterprise-wide vendor strategy, along with the multi-year roadmap and operating structure.
  • Set the approach for how Disney works with and extracts value from its most important technology suppliers.
  • Ensure vendor plans are aligned with enterprise priorities, performance expectations, and business outcomes.
  • Own governance and performance management for strategic suppliers at scale.
  • Create executive oversight mechanisms, KPI structures, and escalation paths.
  • Monitor performance across strategic suppliers and managed services arrangements.
  • Work with Finance, Procurement, and Sourcing teams to improve spend efficiency, consumption, and contract value.
  • Produce measurable savings, efficiency improvements, and better service delivery outcomes.
  • Build stronger controls around risk, compliance, and continuity.
  • Set standards for contract compliance, supplier risk, and service resilience.
  • Identify and reduce operational, financial, and delivery-related risks before they escalate.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior enterprise leadership.
  • Convert vendor performance, risk, and financial data into clear recommendations for executive decision-making.
  • Influence stakeholders across Technology and business functions without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Lead the transformation of the VMO, including modernization of tools, processes, and metrics.
  • Develop a high-performing team with strong ownership, priorities, and accountability.

Required qualifications

  • At least 12 years of experience, including substantial leadership responsibility.
  • Proven background leading enterprise technology vendor management or sourcing operations.
  • Strong expertise in supplier governance, managed services, and performance management using SLAs, KPIs, and XLAs.
  • Extensive experience managing large and complex vendor ecosystems and outsourcing relationships.
  • Clear track record of delivering financial outcomes such as cost optimization, contract value improvement, and risk reduction.
  • Excellent executive communication and influencing skills, with the ability to align Technology, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and business partners in a matrixed setup.
  • Demonstrated success leading transformation efforts in complex organizations.
  • Working understanding of technology trends and common architecture patterns.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience handling complex vendor negotiations, renewals, or large sourcing programs.
  • Experience building data-led vendor performance dashboards and governance models.
  • Formal training or certification in sourcing, procurement, or contract negotiation.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or Business is preferred, though equivalent practical experience may also be considered. An advanced degree or relevant certification is a plus.

Compensation and benefits

The expected base salary range for this role in Burbank, CA is $251,900 to $337,800 per year. The final offer may vary based on internal pay equity, location, role-related expertise, skills, and experience.
