About the Role
An international investment banking firm is expanding its Technology Investment Banking team in Munich and seeks a Vice President to join. The company advises a diverse range of clients including founder-led firms, publicly listed companies, private equity investors, and rapidly growing enterprises across various technology sectors such as software, fintech, technology-enabled services, digital infrastructure, internet, and emerging technologies. This position involves providing strategic counsel on mergers and acquisitions, private fundraising, IPOs, debt financing, and other corporate finance activities in the European market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex merger and acquisition, capital raising, and strategic advisory projects.
- Coordinate several ongoing transactions ensuring smooth communication among all parties involved.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison for clients, investors, and advisors.
- Supervise the development and evaluation of financial models, valuation assessments, and transaction documentation.
- Manage due diligence, virtual data rooms, and cross-functional advisory collaborations.
- Develop presentations for management, board members, and investor conversations.
- Assist senior bankers in business development, client relations, and origination.
- Mentor and guide Analysts and Associates.
- Support expansion and visibility of the Technology Investment Banking sector within the firm.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possess excellent academic credentials with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Have approximately 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, private equity, or similar corporate finance roles.
- Demonstrate proven transaction execution within technology, software, fintech, or fast-growing sectors.
- Exhibit advanced proficiency in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and transaction structuring.
- Be skilled in comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, discounted cash flow (DCF), and leveraged buyout (LBO) techniques.
- Possess strong commercial insight with the capacity to convert intricate financial data into strategic client advice.
- Manage multiple transactions and deadlines effectively within dynamic environments.
- Show leadership experience, particularly in mentoring junior team members.
- Have outstanding communication, presentation, and client engagement skills.
- Be fluent in both German (native or fluent) and English at a professional standard.
