Job description

Role overview

Dow Jones Energy is looking for a senior regional leader to drive the growth of its Energy, Chemicals, Metals, and Fuel Supply business across APAC. This position carries complete regional profit-and-loss responsibility and calls for a leader who can shape strategy, accelerate commercial performance, and strengthen the company’s position in a rapidly changing energy and commodities environment.

The role is responsible for setting and delivering a multi-year growth plan, expanding revenue and margins in a measurable way, and establishing Dow Jones Energy as an essential source of market intelligence and infrastructure for the region.

As the most senior commercial and strategic representative for the business in APAC, this leader will work directly with government bodies, sovereign organizations, national oil companies, and large multinational enterprises.

About the team

Dow Jones Energy provides price transparency, benchmarks, analytics, news, and market insight across energy, chemicals, metals, and fuel supply markets worldwide. Its solutions support customers in spot, wholesale, and retail markets, as well as areas linked to the energy transition.

Using authoritative data, real-time intelligence, and strong market expertise, the team helps clients make high-stakes decisions in volatile and fast-moving markets.

What you will do

  • Create and lead the long-term commercial and expansion strategy for APAC, aligned with broader global priorities and focused on revenue growth, market penetration, and stronger client relationships.
  • Take full ownership of the regional P&L and deliver consistent year-on-year improvement in revenue and margin.
  • Build stable revenue engines through subscriptions, enterprise deals, benchmarks, and consulting work.
  • Work closely with global leadership on forecasting, investment decisions, and long-range growth initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and grow a multi-country team of senior leaders while fostering accountability, performance, and consultative selling excellence.
  • Strengthen leadership depth and succession planning across the region.
  • Review and improve regional structure, investment priorities, and key hiring decisions.
  • Position Dow Jones Energy as a critical market intelligence partner for the region’s most influential organizations.
  • Maintain a high-quality sales pipeline, strong CRM discipline, and reliable forecasting and market-risk reporting for the executive team.
  • Represent the business in discussions with C-suite leaders, regulators, ministries, sovereign wealth funds, and national oil companies throughout APAC.
  • Serve as the final decision point for major enterprise negotiations and intricate commercial arrangements.
  • Use deep expertise in oil, refined products, chemicals, metals, and energy transition markets to spot new opportunities and convert market changes into commercial growth.
  • Shape global product direction, pricing, and regional go-to-market choices so APAC needs are reflected in the roadmap.
  • Coordinate across News, Product, and Research teams to create integrated, end-to-end solutions for complex energy organizations.
  • Partner with Product, Editorial, Technology, Marketing, and Operations teams to deliver joined-up, high-impact outcomes.
  • Provide the executive committee with advanced forecasting, risk analysis, and geopolitical insight.
  • Oversee governance, compliance, and operational discipline across the region.
  • Act as the senior link between APAC operations and the global Dow Jones Energy leadership group.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of executive-level experience in energy, commodities, chemicals, metals, or energy data and analytics.
  • Proven ownership of regional P&L with a track record of delivering steady, meaningful revenue and margin growth.
  • Recognized standing as an industry authority in APAC energy and commodity markets.
  • Strong executive credibility with governments, national oil companies, sovereign entities, and multinational corporations.
  • Experience structuring and closing complex enterprise and consulting agreements.
  • Solid understanding of regional regulatory environments and geopolitical factors.
  • History of leading senior teams across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Sound commercial judgment, capital allocation awareness, and investment evaluation skills.
  • Excellent executive-level communication and influencing ability.
  • English fluency is required; knowledge of an additional regional language is an advantage.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive insurance coverage and retirement plans.
  • Paid time off and leave entitlements.
  • Education support benefits.
  • Family care support benefits.
  • Career growth programs.
  • Access to Dow Jones products.
  • Employee referral program.
  • Well-being support and fitness programs for employees.
