Our client is a publicly traded company that manufactures advanced lithium-ion battery systems, catering to sectors such as material handling equipment, airport ground support, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and large commercial and industrial fleet operators. They offer critical energy solutions aimed at electrification, efficiency, and reliability in industrial and logistics settings.

Role Overview

The Vice President of Sales will lead and expand the company’s sales team, primarily targeting customers in material handling and industrial segments. This role involves owning the sales strategy, fostering key customer relationships, managing channel partnerships, and developing the sales team, all in alignment with long-term organizational growth goals. This position requires a hands-on leader capable of navigating both strategic and operational challenges within a complex technical industrial sales environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement the company’s sales strategy focusing on material handling, industrial fleet, and OEM clientele.
  • Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales team including regional and vertical sales leaders.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with major enterprise customers, strategic accounts, and channel partners.
  • Drive acquisition of new customers and expand revenues within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment of customer needs with product development and market approach.
  • Optimize sales operations including processes, forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM usage.
  • Represent the company at key industry events, trade shows, and critical customer interactions.
  • Provide comprehensive sales performance, pipeline status, and market insight reports to executive leadership and the Board.

Ideal Qualifications & Experience

  • More than 12 years of progressive experience in sales leadership within industrial, energy, electrification, or technology-driven hardware sectors.
  • Direct sales experience in material handling, logistics, industrial fleets, or OEM environments is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success closing complex consultative B2B enterprise agreements.
  • Experience in growing sales teams in dynamic growth-stage or publicly traded companies.
  • Expertise with channel sales models, dealer networks, and strategic partner management.
  • Comfortable with technically sophisticated product offerings requiring cross-department collaboration.
  • Data-focused with strong abilities in sales forecasting and pipeline management.

Leadership Characteristics

  • Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and a hands-on management approach.
  • Executive presence capable of engaging confidently with C-suite clients.
  • Collaborative leadership style encouraging cross-functional partnerships.
  • Adept at thriving in a fast-moving, changing business environment.
  • Committed to integrity, accountability, and taking ownership.

Why Join This Role

  • Opportunity to hold senior leadership role at a publicly traded company within a burgeoning electrification market.
  • Chance to shape commercial approaches and scale an evolving sales organization.
  • Visibility and collaboration with top executives and Board members.
  • Potential for significant impact on revenue growth and market presence.
