Vice President, Product Management

Position Overview

Join Verra Mobility as Vice President of Product, Government Solutions, leading our transformation from a project-driven IT model to a modern Product Operating Model. Reporting to the SVP, Head of Product, with a dotted line to the EVP, Government Solutions, you will drive the product vision and ownership across our Government Solutions portfolio. Our products integrate advanced technologies—cameras, radar sensors, AI edge processing, SaaS software, payment systems, and maintenance services—into comprehensive platforms utilized by government clients. Our mission focuses on enhancing safety and protecting lives through smart, reliable, and connected solutions.

You will inspire and guide product teams adopting empowered, cross-disciplinary collaboration to tackle genuine customer challenges with scalable and compliant outcomes. While not directly responsible for P&L, your leadership will influence sustainable growth, profitability, and customer success. Transitioning from output-based delivery to outcome-oriented objectives, you will cultivate deep customer understanding and promote early, frequent customer engagement to validate and refine product ideas.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and promote an insightful, unified product strategy aligned with company goals and customer outcomes.
• Establish a North Star vision that integrates a diverse product portfolio into a cohesive, customer-centric ecosystem.
• Shift focus from feature-output to measurable business outcomes such as retention, adoption, and margin growth.
• Continuously refine team structures (Team Topology) to reduce dependencies and prioritize innovation and growth opportunities.
• Embed a Product Operating Model that encourages collaboration between Product Management, Engineering, and Design as equal partners.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop product managers, emphasizing mastery and outcome-driven accountability.
• Champion cultural transformation toward customer-centric problem-solving and empowered product teams.
• Lead product discovery and delivery processes, balancing innovation with government procurement and regulatory compliance realities.
• Collaborate with Engineering on platform modernization efforts focused on microservices and cloud architecture.
• Promote a discovery-first approach ensuring value, usability, feasibility, and viability are validated before development.
• Engage directly with government clients, policymakers, and stakeholders to align products with authentic needs.
• Govern quarterly product reviews providing transparency into product health, strategic alignment, and data-driven insights.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of product leadership with at least 5 years in senior or VP roles within medium to large public software or technology-enabled services firms.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related fields is required; Master's preferred.
• Proven success transforming feature-team models into empowered, outcome-based product team organizations.
• Domain experience in complex B2B/B2G/B2C sectors, GovTech, transportation, public safety, IoT, Smart City, FinTech, defense tech, or regulated environments is highly preferred.
• Strong financial acumen to articulate KPIs in terms of business and financial outcomes.
• Technical fluency in modern platform architectures including APIs, microservices, and cloud migration.
• Exceptional change management skills with ability to align multiple business units and foster empowered product cultures.
