CFG Bank, headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, is a premier financial institution specializing in national healthcare and multifamily markets. Boasting over 30 years of industry expertise, the bank has expanded its assets from $1 billion to more than $6 billion by 2026. As one of the top five lenders in healthcare bridge-to-HUD financing nationwide, CFG Bank combines the strengths of a major bank with personalized boutique service. It has been repeatedly recognized as one of the "Best Places to Work" by the Baltimore Business Journal, fostering a supportive and engaging work environment committed to making CFG Bank a top career choice.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Originations will lead efforts to source, structure, and originate bridge-to-HUD and direct HUD/FHA Section 232 loan transactions focusing on skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) throughout the West Coast region. This role is pivotal in cultivating new client relationships, expanding existing partnerships, and maintaining a steady pipeline of financing opportunities that align with CFG Bank's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and develop bridge-to-HUD and Section 232 HUD/FHA loan transactions across the West Coast, with emphasis on skilled nursing facility financing.
  • Build and sustain a robust pipeline of healthcare real estate financing opportunities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with SNF operators, owners, sponsors, private equity firms, REITs, brokers, and other stakeholders in healthcare real estate.
  • Engage in market outreach, conduct client meetings, site visits, and deliver presentations to generate new business.
  • Act as the key relationship manager for West Coast SNF clients, maintaining frequent communication to assess financing needs and provide guidance on HUD eligibility and bridge-to-HUD strategies.
  • Develop initial deal structures, pricing strategies, and conduct credit assessments to evaluate transactions.
  • Oversee credit analysis, financial modeling, investment evaluation, and credit packaging, including preparing presentations for internal approval and external partners when necessary.
  • Lead transaction execution from initial screening through to closing, coordinating due diligence, legal documentation, and closing activities.
  • Collaborate with capital markets teams on loan syndications, private placements, securitizations, and investor relations materials to support transaction execution.
  • Mentor junior staff, promote adherence to underwriting standards, and uphold best practices throughout the deal process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or a closely related discipline.
  • Five to eight or more years of commercial real estate finance experience, particularly with bridge lending, HUD/FHA 232 structured finance, or investment banking.
  • Strong analytical abilities, expertise in financial modeling, and keen credit evaluation skills.
  • Preferred familiarity with senior housing or healthcare real estate markets and HUD 232 programs as well as bridge-to-HUD financing strategies.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage complex transactions with multiple stakeholders under strict deadlines.
  • Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and handling multiple transactions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and client-facing skills, capable of representing the bank with professionalism and credibility.
  • Effective negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing legal documentation, third-party reports, and transaction closings.
  • Preferred knowledge of capital markets distribution methods including loan syndications and securitizations.

Work Environment and Terms

This is a full-time position allowing remote work; candidates must reside on the West Coast. Working hours may be flexible based on business requirements.

Compensation

Annual salary ranges from $120,000 to $200,000, exempt status under FLSA. Position includes an annual discretionary performance bonus, which varies and is not guaranteed. Total compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive employer-sponsored health benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, mental health support, and wellness programs.
  • Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and volunteer days.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer 401(k) match.
  • Additional compensation possibilities such as annual bonus and overtime pay for non-exempt roles.
