About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales for North America to lead the commercial expansion of a reputable European engineering firm specializing in automated storage systems, material handling, and industrial automation solutions. As a key member of the leadership team, this role will drive growth strategy, lead a specialized sales team, and manage major project sales within the North American market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the complete commercial strategy for the North American division across diverse customer groups and market segments.
- Lead and nurture a regional sales team, fostering a culture of high achievement and performance.
- Drive business development initiatives and uncover new opportunities throughout North America.
- Directly oversee strategic client relationships and manage complex project sales cycles involving automation and material handling solutions.
- Supervise local finance and administrative operations, ensuring business efficiency and compliance with corporate standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to guarantee successful project execution.
- Coordinate with the European headquarters on pricing strategies, product alignment, and future market planning.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings across North America.
- Contribute to organizational development, refining processes, and expanding the commercial team through recruitment.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; an MBA is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership in automated storage, material handling, intralogistics, or industrial capital equipment sectors.
- Track record of success in consultative sales with prolonged sales cycles and complex projects.
- Experienced in managing commercial teams and cultivating high-performance cultures.
- Deep knowledge of automation technologies and solution-oriented selling approaches.
- Combines strategic vision with hands-on engagement in customer relationships.
- Strong financial insight related to forecasting, budgeting, and commercial planning.
- Excellent skills in communication, presentations, and negotiations.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with strong ownership and accountability.
- Valued experience in international or European business settings.
- Willing and able to travel extensively across North America and internationally.
