Position Overview

The Director of Operations leads comprehensive management of the company's operational activities, ensuring successful order fulfillment from initial entry through site acceptance. This role holds full responsibility for timely delivery, cost management, and achieving target profit margins. It encompasses supervision over essential operational functions including Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Assembly, Installation, and Commissioning, assuring seamless alignment between customer expectations, technical execution, and overall operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of customer orders, overseeing order intake, shipment scheduling, and inventory to meet established targets.
  • Align commercial promises with technical plans and execution capabilities to complete projects punctually and within budget.
  • Safeguard profit margins and delivery standards in assigned operations.
  • Implement a structured execution framework to maintain consistency, transparency, and control through all project stages, coordinating closely with Project Management.
  • Oversee progress at key milestones such as engineering release, procurement readiness, manufacturing completion, assembly, factory acceptance testing, shipment, installation, and commissioning.
  • Maintain responsibility for on-time delivery and execution-related key performance indicators, intervening proactively when required.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Assembly, and Field Service, ensuring coordinated and practical execution plans.
  • Promote effective collaboration and smooth handoffs among departments throughout the project progression.
  • Serve as the company’s product industrialization authority, coordinating multiple project teams.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to schedule, cost, and quality promptly.
  • Drive swift problem resolution for significant issues affecting delivery or finances, escalating complex matters for timely decisions.
  • Direct resource and capacity planning to match demand and project priorities, including making strategic make-or-buy decisions involving external partners.
  • Ensure customer requirements translate effectively into execution plans and sustain strong coordination with Sales, Project Management, and Service to maximize customer satisfaction and project success.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in operations management, project delivery, or operations leadership within complex industrial or machinery sectors.
  • Proficiency with value stream mapping.
  • Established record managing full project lifecycles with a strong emphasis on delivery and performance.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing, supply chain logistics, and engineering interfaces.
  • Experience working within matrixed and international organizations.
  • Exceptional leadership and influence abilities to harmonize diverse functional teams.
  • Outcome-oriented approach focusing on delivery, cost efficiency, and margin achievement.
  • Methodical problem-solving, risk management, and performance tracking capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Willingness to travel as business needs dictate.
