Job description
About the Role
We seek a Vice President of Sales and Business Development for North America to spearhead growth for a prestigious portfolio comprising two European luxury craftsmanship maisons—one a renowned heritage brand in luxury home and hospitality, the other a design-forward premium lifestyle label, both owned by a global family-run industrial group focused on expansion.
Operating from New York City, the role offers the chance to establish and lead the U.S. commercial presence, leveraging an existing Manhattan showroom, agent and partner networks, e-commerce platforms, and relationships with notable retailers and hospitality entities. This founding position commands direct shareholder support, autonomy to define market entry strategies, and scope to build an expanding team aligned with ambitious revenue goals reaching into eight figures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the comprehensive U.S. commercial strategy encompassing revenue targets, channel allocation, and brand visibility.
- Proactively open and cultivate major accounts within Hospitality, Interior Design / Architecture & Design specification, luxury Retail, and Corporate B2B sectors, exemplifying a hands-on sales leadership approach.
- Manage and enhance the current network of agents and partners, making strategic decisions about strengthening, restructuring, or initiating direct channels.
- Establish and grow specialized retail and dealer channels for the lifestyle brand, with emphasis on partnerships and distribution expansion.
- Represent both maisons with the excellence their craftsmanship demands during showroom engagements, client interactions, and significant industry events.
- Collaborate closely with European brand leadership on pricing strategies, product assortment, demand forecasting, and relay market insights as the U.S. market advocate.
- Recruit, lead, and develop the internal commercial team progressively as revenue targets are met.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable history as a luxury or premium consumer goods commercial leader with tangible success scaling brands or territories within the U.S. market.
- Innate hands-on approach: actively engaged in opening opportunities and closing sales personally beyond delegating to a team.
- Well-established contacts in a minimum of two of these areas: hospitality procurement, interior design/A&D specification, luxury retail purchasing, or corporate gifting/B2B segments.
- Portfolio-oriented thinking: capable of authentically representing two distinct maisons with deep product appreciation, design acumen, and uncompromising quality standards.
- Entrepreneurial and self-motivated, adept at operating independently as the inaugural in-market leader with direct accountability to shareholders.
Compensation and Terms
The position offers a base salary range of USD 150,000 to USD 250,000 annually augmented by a performance-based commission that correlates with revenue achievement, incentivizing growth and profitability.
Additional Information
This opportunity involves travel estimated at 40-50% across major U.S. regions. The search is confidential and conducted on a retained basis, with the client’s identity disclosed to qualified candidates under NDA at the proper stage. Current employers will not be contacted during the recruitment process.
