Role summary
The Vice President of Operations is a senior leadership position with complete profit-and-loss accountability. The role is responsible for improving operational performance, financial results, and client satisfaction across a multi-site portfolio in Cincinnati and the broader Ohio/Kentucky market.
This leader oversees operations, sales support, quality, compliance, and account management, while guiding a high-performing operations team. The position also works across functions to carry out strategic initiatives, support growth goals, and maintain service delivery that reflects the company’s standards and values.
Primary responsibilities
Lead client partnerships and growth efforts, strengthen relationships, support retention, and help drive new business opportunities in coordination with divisional and national sales teams.
Travel regularly across the assigned markets to work directly with clients and internal teams.
Direct, coach, and develop operations leaders while setting clear goals, holding teams accountable, and managing performance consistently.
Promote a culture centered on continuous improvement, innovation, safety, and disciplined execution.
Align daily operational work with broader company strategy and focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
Own full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, labor control, expense management, and productivity improvement.
Manage resources across multiple accounts to keep operations efficient, scalable, and well-balanced.
Track performance indicators and take corrective action quickly when results fall short.
Work with HR and Legal to maintain compliance with labor regulations, wage and hour rules, subcontractor use, safety practices, and training requirements.
Ensure operating standards are followed and compliance expectations remain strong throughout the organization.
Recruit, interview, and recommend supervisory and management-level hires.
Support communication, training, and leadership development across distributed teams.
Use Microsoft Office-based cost management tools to monitor and control labor, supplies, and equipment budgets.
Drive consistent performance in safety, quality, service delivery, and cost management.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline is preferred.
Applicants should have at least 8 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial janitorial services, facilities services, or a similar multi-site service environment; route-based business experience is strongly preferred.
At least 8 years of senior management experience with full P&L accountability is expected.
At least 5 years of experience leading decentralized, mobile leadership teams is required.
The role requires regular travel across the SW Ohio and Kentucky markets.
