Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Office Manager / Practice Manager to manage daily office operations, coordinate the team, and ensure timely client service delivery. This senior role demands a dependable individual who can independently lead office functions and drive tasks to completion proactively.
Primary Duties
- Manage and coordinate ongoing work involving statutory audits, tax audits, income tax return filings, GST compliance, and accounting activities.
- Distribute assignments among team members, monitor ownership and turnaround time, and personally intervene to guarantee deadlines are met rather than just tracked.
- Ensure strict compliance with statutory deadlines related to income tax returns, GST filings, tax audit reports, and other mandatory submissions by taking full responsibility for on-time closure.
- Serve as the primary contact for client needs and communications.
- Be prepared to invest additional effort and hours during peak compliance periods such as tax audit season, GST annual returns, and ITR due dates to prevent delays.
- Actively follow up with staff and clients to resolve pending tasks before they escalate into urgent issues.
- Update the Proprietor regularly on the progress and risks concerning time-critical matters, providing adequate lead time for intervention if necessary.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience within a Chartered Accountant firm, holding positions in office or practice management or senior executive coordination.
- Comprehensive understanding of CA office operations including Income Tax filing, GST compliance, audits, Excel usage, and ITR preparation.
- Preference given to semi-qualified CAs (IPCC/Intermediate cleared) or CA dropouts possessing substantial practical experience.
- Demonstrable ownership attitude with a track record of driving compliance tasks to completion, beyond mere coordination.
- Willingness to work extended hours during critical compliance phases.
Key Competencies
- Persistency in task completion rather than mere delegation.
- Capability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with clients and staff members.
- Basic people management skills to delegate and supervise staff workloads.
- Effective problem-solving ability.
