Overview
The Vice President of Operations will oversee key operational support areas such as scheduling, account management, client relations, and field supervision, specifically focusing on residential and multi-family markets. This leadership role involves collaboration with Operations and Scheduling Managers as well as HR to ensure exceptional service delivery to clients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and expand customer relationships to foster growth.
- Ensure operational excellence by managing teams responsible for scheduling, field supervision, and portfolio management.
- Collaborate with regional leadership to establish performance metrics and goals for operations teams.
- Organize and lead recurring meetings both group and individual to promote service quality and meet client and company targets.
- Manage annual performance reviews, including documentation, coaching, and development of operations personnel.
- Address disciplinary matters, ensuring adherence to company and union regulations, consulting HR as necessary.
- Assist in managing involuntary terminations, including exit interviews and guidance on unemployment claims or union grievances.
- Support recruitment, training, and onboarding processes; resolve obstacles in hiring and orientation.
- Communicate company policies, benefits, and procedures to both staff and applicants when required.
- Prepare comprehensive reports relating to personnel and account activities.
- Monitor and ensure proper utilization of company equipment such as technology and vehicles.
- Stay updated on applicable federal, state, and local collective bargaining agreements relevant to services.
- Promote a culture that encourages employee contribution towards business objectives.
- Review new business opportunities with sales teams to confirm alignment with company goals and culture.
- Handle internal and external correspondence and memos as needed.
- Provide operational support throughout Chicago and neighboring suburbs; this is an onsite position requiring presence in company offices or client locations.
- Engage actively in networking within residential and multi-family markets through events and groups.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in security operations or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 4 years in management, ideally with a background in corporate security and guard force oversight.
- Proven success and direct experience within residential and multi-family service sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Leadership skills to effectively manage service delivery and team development at a national level.
- Confidence in presenting information to large groups both virtually and in person.
- Able to interact effectively across various organizational levels and cultures.
- Strong customer focus and results-driven.
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Experience with security guard management software preferred.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment screening.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range of $110,000 to $130,000.
