Role Summary
This leadership position is responsible for setting the direction for Vestcom’s operations and customer experience organizations. The Vice President of Operations is expected to strengthen operational performance, improve delivery and quality outcomes, and help build a workplace culture centered on safety, trust, teamwork, respect, and employee engagement. The role reports to the VP & General Manager of Vestcom.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the executive representative for Operations, Supply Chain, Machine Group, and Customer Experience on the Vestcom leadership team.
- Own improvement in on-time, in-full delivery and drive year-over-year gains across financial performance, quality, service, safety, employee engagement, inventory, and organizational capability.
- Ensure the function consistently meets or exceeds financial and operational targets and KPI expectations.
- Introduce and sustain world-class operating practices that elevate performance to best-in-class levels.
- Keep environmental, health, and safety priorities at the center of the organization’s focus.
- Build strategic relationships inside and outside the company to bring modern process improvements into manufacturing operations.
- Lead organizational change so the business stays aligned with customer and market needs.
- Encourage innovation through technology, service, and organizational culture.
- Foster a safety-first environment supported by trust, teamwork, respect, and engaged employees.
- Create the operating model needed to support business goals, including succession planning and development of future leaders.
- Lead a multi-functional, multi-site operations leadership team and strengthen successor readiness.
- Run regular business reviews with business and finance leaders to evaluate and track action plans that support profitable growth.
- Participate in and help align strategic planning and annual planning processes, including target-setting for key financial measures.
- Improve employee engagement consistently across Vestcom service bureaus.
Candidate Profile
- 12 or more years of operations experience, including site leadership and management of cross-functional and organizational initiatives.
- A four-year degree in Business Administration or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Background in profit-and-loss management.
- Experience with planning and forecasting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the confidence to hold teams accountable for results.
- Proven leadership skills and a history of motivating and inspiring teams.
- Demonstrated capability in planning, organizing, project management, strategy execution, and capital and expense budgeting.
- Ability to lead in a way that reflects Vestcom and Avery Dennison values.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel about 50% of the time.
