Overview
Summit K12 is in search of a seasoned marketing executive to guide the company’s growth phase as Vice President of Marketing. Reporting directly to the CEO and part of Senior Staff, this role commands strategic leadership, operational execution, and accountability for the marketing department’s impact.
Primary Duties
- Devise and implement a multi-year marketing strategy aligned with company growth, customer needs, products, and finances.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and contribute strategic market insights and analyses to senior decision-making.
- Translate company goals into clear marketing priorities, plans, and measurable targets.
- Spot market changes, competitor threats, and new partnerships to inform strategy.
- Drive marketing initiatives focused on ARR growth, high renewal rates, EBITDA improvement, pipeline generation, and customer expansion.
- Develop transparent marketing metrics, dashboards, and reporting tied to business results.
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Support to refine campaigns, cross-sell, upsell, and customer advocacy efforts.
- Enhance Summit K12’s brand identity and positioning among educational stakeholders nationwide.
- Create compelling, accurate messaging and ensure high-quality communication assets.
- Lead product marketing strategy including market segmentation, positioning, competitive intelligence, launch readiness, and post-launch evaluation.
- Manage integrated digital marketing efforts including social media, paid media, content, marketing automation, and AI-powered enhancements.
- Serve as the public face of Summit K12 at industry events, media engagements, podcasts, and thought leadership forums.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with educational leaders, associations, and partners to extend market reach.
- Oversee event planning and execution to maximize strategic impact and ROI.
- Handle marketing budgeting, financial oversight, vendor negotiations, and operational discipline.
- Lead and develop a marketing team of 15–20 professionals fostering a culture of rigor, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Travel commitment of approximately 50% of the time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Education, or related; advanced degree advantageous.
- Over 12 years of progressive B2B marketing experience with senior leadership roles in EdTech or related K-12 sectors.
- Proven success managing sizable marketing teams and connecting marketing strategy to concrete financial outcomes.
- Experience managing multi-million dollar budgets with strong financial discipline and vendor management skills.
- Excellent communication abilities including writing, presenting, and executive-level engagement.
- Strong executive presence and public speaking prowess with high-level educational stakeholders.
- Expertise in digital marketing, demand generation, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Deep knowledge of K-12 education market dynamics, procurement, and decision-making processes.
- Willingness to travel extensively (around 50%).

- Leadership experience in EdTech companies achieving $100M+ ARR and involvement in strategic sales or financing events.
