Role Overview

The Vice President of Manufacturing and Business Operations will spearhead strategic formulation, operational enhancement, and capacity growth within a complex, technologically advanced manufacturing environment. This executive role demands significant expertise in electronic manufacturing, as well as supply chain and logistics management. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this leader will foster a culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, transparency, and professional excellence within a dynamic, growth-oriented setting. The VP will establish strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, demonstrate executive gravitas across all organizational levels, and champion a culture emphasizing superior performance and quality standards. This position is located at Mircom’s headquarters in Vaughan, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute the company’s manufacturing vision, policies, and strategies across all Canadian manufacturing sites.
  • Lead the development and deployment of operational plans to maximize performance among all pertinent teams and leaders within manufacturing.
  • Drive transformational initiatives aimed at optimizing manufacturing, inventory control, maintenance, quality, and safety functions to elevate performance and efficiency.
  • Provide professional leadership to cultivate a world-class, profitable manufacturing operation aligned with growing demand.
  • Implement inventory optimization programs enhancing efficiency, supply chain responsiveness, cost-effectiveness, product quality, customer satisfaction, and employee safety.
  • Design and oversee capital strategies aligned with business objectives, partnering with senior leadership to support a high-performance work culture.
  • Develop strategic objectives to boost product quality, productivity, employee engagement, and satisfaction levels.
  • Outline and implement a strategic plan focused on sustainable change through process improvement and enhanced financial and operational results.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to synchronize efforts that reinforce organizational objectives and integrate Mircom’s values into the customer experience.
  • Introduce and sustain best practices tailored for a multi-site operation to achieve operational excellence and efficiency.
  • Monitor manufacturing financial metrics, spearhead cost-saving initiatives, and use KPI insights to refine processes and operational effectiveness.
  • Generate and evaluate reports tracking operational outcomes, leveraging data to inform ongoing manufacturing strategies.
  • Foster a workplace culture that is collaborative, entrepreneurial, customer-focused, and recognized as an exceptional employer.
  • Recruit, lead, mentor, and retain a high-caliber team, promoting professional growth and career development.
  • Encourage an environment of trust, transparency, accountability, and open communication.

  • Set and communicate clear priorities and objectives, periodically assessing team performance and outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, industry regulations, ISO standards, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Maintain systematic business processes supporting consistent service delivery, enhanced productivity, and regulatory adherence.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to uphold policies aligned with local, provincial, and federal legal mandates.
  • Lead continuous improvement, quality assurance, and sustainability initiatives across operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of progressively senior leadership roles in manufacturing and business operations.
  • Deep technical knowledge in electronics product manufacturing.
  • Proven history of boosting operational efficiency and productivity in manufacturing settings.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Strong financial literacy, including budgeting, analytics, and interpreting financial statements.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Experienced in entrepreneurial and team-oriented environments, adept at collaborating with diverse, motivated professionals.
  • Demonstrated business and financial expertise, with a commitment to innovation, company growth, sustainability, and safety governance.
