Job Summary
The Vice President of Logistics Sales plays a crucial role in shaping and executing the company's sales strategy for warehouse logistics and related fulfillment solutions. The main aim is to maximize warehouse utilization by acquiring new food-grade and related 3PL clients. This leadership position demands a strategic, insightful leader with extensive experience in 3PL sales and management, focused on growing revenue, expanding market share, and cultivating lasting customer relationships.
Key Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies targeting revenue and company goals.
- Lead and nurture a collaborative sales culture fostering innovation and continuous growth.
- Manage sales for national and strategic key accounts while directing local sales teams in Houston, Southern California, Salt Lake City, and Denver.
- Perform market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and evolving customer needs to adjust sales approaches accordingly.
- Build strong relationships with key customers and collaborate closely with operations and customer service to enhance client experiences.
- Seek and develop new business opportunities, coordinating with marketing to execute focused campaigns that generate leads and expand the client base.
- Lead contract negotiations ensuring advantageous terms and collaborate with legal and finance for contract finalization.
- Define and track sales KPIs to evaluate team performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and product development to ensure delivery excellence and inform product innovation.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or related disciplines; MBA preferred.
- Proven leadership experience in sales within the 3PL or logistics sectors.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or surpassing sales objectives.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain logistics and third-party logistics services.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic mindset capable of fostering innovation and adapting to change.
- Proactive approach to business acquisition with a solutions-based sales methodology.
- Experience managing sales processes supported by CRM systems and sales data analytics.
- Willingness to travel extensively; preference for candidates based in Houston headquarters.
