Overview
We are looking for a Vice President of IT Operations to lead and manage technology delivery and support across Vytalize Health and its affiliated practices. This leadership role in our MSO involves establishing standards, systems, and support models used by our corporate teams and associated practices, as well as integrating new practices into our IT framework as we continue to grow. The position requires overseeing IT service delivery, infrastructure, cloud operations, endpoint and identity management within a HIPAA-compliant environment where protected health information (PHI) is integral to daily functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the IT operating model for the MSO, setting the standards for centralized services across managed practices including support and measurement processes.
- Lead the onboarding and integration of newly acquired or affiliated practices encompassing discovery, network setup, identity management, endpoint and application access, and adherence to Vytalize IT standards.
- Manage the end-user experience for all corporate, clinical, and practice-based users, including service desk operations, device management, user onboarding/offboarding, and escalation procedures.
- Enhance and mature ITSM processes in Jira Service Management covering incidents, requests, problem resolution, and change management.
- Define and monitor operational metrics such as resolution times, uptime, customer satisfaction, and first-contact resolution for both corporate and practice environments.
- Oversee core technology infrastructure including cloud services, identity and access management, endpoint security aligning with multiple entities.
- Set and enforce IT standards on hardware, connectivity, access, and support for practice sites.
- Manage business continuity and disaster recovery plans for clinical and practice systems.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Applications, Data, Information Security, and Compliance teams to ensure audit readiness, evidence gathering, remediation, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2).
- Administer budgets, vendor contracts, and third-party support strategies vital for reliable IT service delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and expand the internal IT team to build scalable support models as new practices are incorporated.
- Represent IT leadership at the executive level and partner cross-functionally with Clinical, Practice Operations, People Operations, and Corporate Development teams.
- Translate strategic business priorities into a scalable IT operational roadmap that accommodates growth in employees, practices, and market expansion.
Additional Duties
- Work with Information Security to secure applications through proper configuration, secure authentication mechanisms, role-based access control, and managing access reviews per security policies.
- Enforce Change Management processes requiring documentation, impact assessments, approvals, and coordination prior to deployment.
- Apply standard hardening configurations and remediate vulnerabilities following the Vulnerability Management policy.
- Maintain firewall configurations consistent with Data and Platform Security policies, documenting changes and participating in security reviews.
- Keep comprehensive and current inventories of hardware, software, and cloud resources throughout their lifecycle, ensuring classification, ownership assignment, and policy compliance.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in IT operations with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- Proven experience delivering IT as a shared service across multiple organizations or sites.
- Successful track record of integrating acquired or affiliated groups onto unified IT systems.
- Experience managing IT during periods of significant organizational growth.
- Strong expertise with Microsoft 365 at scale, including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Entra ID), identity and access management, and cloud operations.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud environments.
- Experienced with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune for Windows and Jamf for macOS.
- Solid ITSM background with ownership of ITIL-aligned processes (incident, request, problem, and change management); ITIL certification preferred.
- Proficiency with Jira Service Management or similar ITSM platforms.
- Comfort operating under regulatory constraints with audit and control requirements.
- Budget management and vendor relationship experience.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred, including familiarity with MSO, physician practice, value-based care, or ACO settings.
- Knowledge of healthcare applications such as EHR platforms, clinical systems, and payer data feeds is beneficial.
- Experience supporting distributed clinical teams and remote corporate staff preferred.
- Strict adherence to HIPAA confidentiality and compliance standards.
