Role Summary

CareFlite is hiring a senior leader to direct ground transport operations across its service region. This executive will oversee emergency and non-emergency transportation programs, including ambulance services, communications, fleet oversight, and logistical coordination.

The position is accountable for strengthening operational performance, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, and improving results across a multi-location environment while keeping patient safety, service quality, and customer experience at the forefront.

The role calls for a leader who can shape strategy, guide large teams, and translate operational goals into measurable results. It also requires strong financial judgment, effective communication, and the ability to build trust across internal and external stakeholders.

Work Pattern and Environment

This is a full-time leadership position supporting a 24/7 service model. The role requires availability for urgent operational issues, emergencies, and critical incidents, along with regular travel throughout the service area. Work will span office, field, and stakeholder-facing settings.

Physical Expectations

The job involves frequent movement between sites and the ability to handle both administrative and field-based duties. Extended periods of standing, walking, and direct interaction with stakeholders may be necessary.

Qualifications

Candidates should bring substantial leadership experience in EMS, ambulance operations, or healthcare operations, along with proven success managing large, complex, and multi-site teams. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, EMS, public administration, or a related discipline is required, and a master’s degree such as an MBA, MHA, MPA, or equivalent is also required.

Preferred experience includes prior field work as an EMT, Paramedic, or EMS leader, familiarity with RFP/RFI processes and contract negotiations, advanced knowledge of EMS system design, deployment modeling, and dispatch operations, and experience working with hospital systems, government agencies, and community partners.

A valid Texas driver’s license is required. EMS certification or licensure is preferred.
