About the Role
We are partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed technology services firm to find a Vice President of Corporate Development. This senior position is critical in establishing and leading a scalable mergers and acquisitions (M&A) function, fostering growth through strategic acquisitions in a highly acquisitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive M&A activities including deal sourcing, due diligence, letter of intent (LOI) negotiation, and transaction closure.
- Create and maintain a structured acquisition pipeline featuring clear stages, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting metrics.
- Develop a sustainable deal sourcing mechanism through industry events, networking, and targeted outreach initiatives.
- Conduct rigorous, data-focused evaluations of potential acquisition targets.
- Collaborate closely with executive leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration and acquisition execution.
- Build and nurture relationships with business owners, advisors, and stakeholders, representing the organization professionally during deals.
- Implement corporate development best practices and operational discipline within the function.
Required Qualifications
- Executive-level experience (Vice President) in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Corporate Development.
- Demonstrable success managing acquisitions in buy-and-build, roll-up, or acquisition-centric growth models.
- Proven track record developing or significantly enhancing M&A processes, pipelines, and reporting frameworks.
- Experience building acquisition pipelines through proactive sourcing and relationship management.
- Strong financial acumen, analytical expertise, and skilled negotiation capabilities.
- Executive presence with ability to gain trust and credibility among founders, business owners, and senior management.
- A collaborative mindset with a process-driven and objective approach to decision making.
Preferred Experience
- Background in technology services, managed services, telecommunications, or other businesses with recurring revenue models.
- Experience acquiring founder-led or lower middle-market companies.
- Familiarity with acquisition strategies common in private equity-backed firms.
Additional Information
- Location: Remote position, preferably based in Dallas, Texas area.
- Travel: Frequent travel is expected to support deal activities.
