Role Summary
The Vice President – Business Development will spearhead sales initiatives targeting Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks. This senior leadership role entails originating, nurturing, and finalizing complex, multi-year transformation agreements designed to establish Intellect as a strategic partner for enterprise-wide modernization efforts. The ideal candidate must possess significant fintech sales leadership experience, a strong executive presence, deep insight into large banking operating models, and the acumen to manage prolonged sales processes involving numerous stakeholders, regulators, and procurement departments.
Key Responsibilities

- Build and oversee a strategic pipeline of opportunities in areas such as digital core transformation, transaction banking modernization, payments, risk and compliance, treasury, and AI-driven platforms.
- Manage end-to-end sales cycles from discovery to deal closure, including contract negotiation and commercial arrangements.
- Forge and deepen relationships with C-level and executive stakeholders to position Intellect as a long-term strategic technology partner.
- Lead executive workshops, visioning exercises, and value engineering sessions to design large-scale programs.
- Guide the presentation of Intellect’s enterprise-grade, cloud-native, composable platforms tailored for complex banking environments.
- Collaborate with pre-sales and solution architects to develop customized, outcome-focused proposals that address scalability, resilience, regulatory compliance, and global operations.
- Communicate clear business value propositions emphasizing cost reduction, regulatory preparedness, agility, and enhanced customer experience.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Pre-Sales, Delivery, Marketing, and Global Sales teams to maintain consistent messaging and execution.
- Coordinate with global account teams to manage multi-country stakeholders and decision-making frameworks.
- Provide structured market and client insights to influence product development and strategic investments.
- Represent the company at global banking forums, industry events, executive roundtables, and analyst briefings; contribute thought leadership on large-bank transformation and emerging banking models.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline data, forecasts, and governance using CRM systems.
- Achieve annual revenue, booking targets, and strategic account goals.
- Mentor and support junior sales leaders and account teams as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 12-15 years of experience in fintech or enterprise software sales, predominantly with Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks.
- Proven record of successfully closing large, complex, multi-million-pound deals involving extended sales cycles.
- Comprehensive understanding of large bank architectures, legacy system upgrades, regulatory frameworks, and global banking operations.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence top executives and board-level decision makers.
- Excellent commercial insight, negotiation prowess, and strategic thought leadership.
- Advantageous to have experience in core banking, transaction banking, payments, treasury, risk and compliance, or AI/data platform sales.
- Familiarity with cloud transformation technologies, microservices, API-led architectures, and composable banking systems.
- Knowledge of German and international banking regulations (e.g., PRA, FCA, ECB) is preferred.
- Pre-existing relationships with Tier 1 or Tier 2 banking institutions are a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Consultative enterprise selling with a focus on value-based customer engagement.
- Strategic account planning and coordination across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong financial analysis and deal structuring expertise.
- High resilience combined with strong credibility and executive presence.
- Capability to effectively navigate a global and matrixed organizational environment.
What We Offer
