About the Role
An independent advisory firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions as well as financing is looking to hire a Vice President for its team based in Düsseldorf. The company focuses on advising owner-managed mid-sized businesses primarily in sectors such as Software & IT, Industrials, Chemicals, Paints & Coatings, and Business Services. The advisory services cover acquisition, divestment, special situations, and financing assignments. This position involves managing full transaction lifecycles from origination through closing, working hand-in-hand with partners in an entrepreneurial atmosphere that promotes responsibility and collaboration.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of mid-market M&A deals and financing projects from start to finish.
- Manage projects effectively by coordinating clients, investors, advisors, and all relevant parties throughout the transaction phases.
- Create and supervise preparation of marketing and transaction documentation including teasers, information memoranda, management presentations, as well as long and shortlists.
- Oversee due diligence activities, organize data rooms, manage Q&A processes, facilitate workshops, and control transaction timelines.
- Assist in negotiations and ensure smooth coordination of contractual documents until deal closure.
- Drive business development efforts by preparing pitches, cultivating sector knowledge, and expanding professional networks.
- Guide and mentor junior staff and contribute to internal operational and organizational improvements.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Five to seven years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, M&A Advisory, Corporate M&A, Transaction Services, Commercial Due Diligence, or Strategy Consulting.
- Proven success managing multiple successful M&A transactions.
- Strong skills in financial and market analysis, evaluating business models, and commercial assessments.
- Excellent project management skills with ability to handle multiple parallel workstreams.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
- An entrepreneurial approach with strong ownership qualities, communication skills, and client relationship management.
- Fluent in both German and English languages.
