Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial operations including FP&A, accounting, reporting, and cash flow for multiple business streams such as project purchases and fee revenue.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO on capital deployment, evolving revenue models, and finance aspects related to the company's AI-driven transformation.
  • Develop and maintain financial frameworks to support the company's shift towards a platform business model.
  • Manage annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and continuous financial planning.
  • Handle project accounting covering cost tracking, draw schedules, client billing, and detailed project-level financial analysis.
  • Ensure projects maintain clean financial separation with adherence to GAAP standards for revenue recognition and cost allocations.
  • Enforce internal controls over procurement-in-trust processes involving client capital management.
  • Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions, including earnings quality, revenue concentration, integration cost modeling, and earnout structuring.
  • Build valuation and deal models for growth strategies involving client expansion, geographic growth, and talent acquisition.
  • Support post-acquisition integration including entity consolidation and financial performance tracking against earnout goals.
  • Collaborate with legal and various stakeholders on deal structuring and risk management.
  • Design reporting and organizational frameworks for multi-entity financial consolidation supporting executive decision making.
  • Manage banking relationships, external audit engagements, and fractional or advisory financial resources.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead the internal finance team during business scaling.
  • Oversee selection and deployment of financial systems aligned with an ERP-agnostic, complex operational environment.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 10 years progressive financial career with 3-5 years in senior finance leadership roles.
  • Hands-on expertise in project-based construction accounting, including draw management, fraud prevention, project segmentation, and revenue recognition in construction or procurement sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in mergers and acquisitions, able to independently lead diligence and earnout financial modeling.
  • Background in high-growth or venture-backed technology startups with familiarity in key metric tracking and investor-grade reporting.
  • Experienced in managing multi-entity financial structures with consolidated reporting.
  • Deep understanding and practical use of AI-driven automation in financial processes, capable of designing workflows and systems to minimize manual repetitive tasks.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with hybrid business models combining service/managed operations with software or platform revenues.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset comfortable building finance functions from the ground up.
  • Experience in commercial real estate, construction technology, procurement, or related industries.
  • Proficiency with earnout deal structures, integration accounting, and post-close financial monitoring.
  • Previous exposure to capital raising and board-level financial communications.
  • Operationally savvy with thorough understanding of business cash flows and system improvements.
  • Strong communicator capable of explaining complex financial topics to non-finance leaders.
  • Highly self-directed, able to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, embracing ambiguity and collaboration.
