Overview
This leadership role oversees the complete finance function of an evolving company transitioning from managed services to a hybrid platform model. The Vice President/Head of Finance will steer financial strategy, reporting, project accounting, and M&A activities, working closely with the CEO and executive team to shape and execute the organization's financial architecture and growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations including FP&A, accounting, reporting, and cash flow for multiple business streams such as project purchases and fee revenue.
- Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO on capital deployment, evolving revenue models, and finance aspects related to the company's AI-driven transformation.
- Develop and maintain financial frameworks to support the company's shift towards a platform business model.
- Manage annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and continuous financial planning.
- Handle project accounting covering cost tracking, draw schedules, client billing, and detailed project-level financial analysis.
- Ensure projects maintain clean financial separation with adherence to GAAP standards for revenue recognition and cost allocations.
- Enforce internal controls over procurement-in-trust processes involving client capital management.
- Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions, including earnings quality, revenue concentration, integration cost modeling, and earnout structuring.
- Build valuation and deal models for growth strategies involving client expansion, geographic growth, and talent acquisition.
- Support post-acquisition integration including entity consolidation and financial performance tracking against earnout goals.
- Collaborate with legal and various stakeholders on deal structuring and risk management.
- Design reporting and organizational frameworks for multi-entity financial consolidation supporting executive decision making.
- Manage banking relationships, external audit engagements, and fractional or advisory financial resources.
- Recruit, develop, and lead the internal finance team during business scaling.
- Oversee selection and deployment of financial systems aligned with an ERP-agnostic, complex operational environment.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years progressive financial career with 3-5 years in senior finance leadership roles.
- Hands-on expertise in project-based construction accounting, including draw management, fraud prevention, project segmentation, and revenue recognition in construction or procurement sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in mergers and acquisitions, able to independently lead diligence and earnout financial modeling.
- Background in high-growth or venture-backed technology startups with familiarity in key metric tracking and investor-grade reporting.
- Experienced in managing multi-entity financial structures with consolidated reporting.
- Deep understanding and practical use of AI-driven automation in financial processes, capable of designing workflows and systems to minimize manual repetitive tasks.

- Experience with hybrid business models combining service/managed operations with software or platform revenues.
- Entrepreneurial mindset comfortable building finance functions from the ground up.
- Experience in commercial real estate, construction technology, procurement, or related industries.

- Previous exposure to capital raising and board-level financial communications.
- Operationally savvy with thorough understanding of business cash flows and system improvements.
- Strong communicator capable of explaining complex financial topics to non-finance leaders.

Compensation
The role offers an annual salary ranging from $150,000 to $200,000.
