The firm delivers enterprise software solutions to an extensive and diverse customer base, spanning both commercial and public sectors. Having achieved a robust market standing, the company aims to accelerate its shift towards a fully recurring SaaS business model while enhancing its internal infrastructure and scaling operations substantially over the coming years. The current annual recurring revenue (ARR) is approximately €10 million, with ambitions to reach around €30 million over the investment period.

Role Summary

The Vice President of Finance will assume full leadership of the finance function, collaborating closely with the CEO, board members, and private equity investors. This position demands a strategic yet hands-on financial leader who can enhance financial reporting, control, and commercial insights essential for the company's next growth phase within a lean and entrepreneurial setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and take full ownership of the finance department.
  • Elevate the quality of financial reporting, controlling, and management information.
  • Implement robust budgeting, forecasting, and liquidity management frameworks.
  • Develop scalable KPI reporting to support the company’s transformation to a SaaS model.
  • Improve transparency over recurring revenues, customer retention, economics, and commercial performance.
  • Provide analytical support to the CEO and leadership team through business cases and decision-making insights.
  • Drive automation of manual finance activities and upgrade finance-related systems.
  • Enhance financial controls, governance, and reporting rigor.
  • Serve as a primary liaison for the board, shareholders, lenders, and external consultants.
  • Contribute to financing, mergers and acquisitions, and other growth projects as needed.
  • Lead and nurture the finance team to support scaling organizational growth.

Candidate Profile

  • Solid foundation in accounting, controlling, financial planning and analysis, and cash flow management.
  • Proven experience overseeing a finance function fully or in a significant capacity.
  • Track record of refining financial reporting, processes, systems, or controls.
  • Commercially minded with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret financial data into pragmatic business strategies.
  • Experience operating within dynamic, expanding, or entrepreneurial companies.
  • Comfortable interfacing with CEOs, boards, and external investors.
  • Pragmatic, hands-on leadership style with a modest approach.
  • Fluency in both German and English is required.
  • Background in software, SaaS, technology, or recurring revenue businesses is highly favored but not mandatory.
  • Previous private equity experience is a plus, although candidates from venture capital backed, founder-led, or corporate sectors demonstrating requisite commercial acumen and agility are welcomed.
