Role Overview
We seek a Vice President of Clinical Operations to lead and execute clinical development strategies for therapies targeting autoimmune diseases. This leadership role is pivotal for overseeing Phase 1 through Phase 3 clinical studies, ensuring timely, high-quality, and cost-efficient delivery. You will help shape clinical strategies, manage clinical execution, direct external partners, and build robust clinical operations foundations that support organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and management of Phase 1-3 clinical trials from initiation through study report preparation.
- Convert clinical development strategies into detailed operational plans, timelines, and budget forecasts.
- Function as a hands-on leader, balancing executive strategy with practical oversight and involvement.
- Develop and expand clinical operations processes and infrastructures tailored to company needs.
- Select and supervise CROs and external vendors to guarantee quality and timely delivery.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Program Management, Regulatory, and Finance teams.
- Ensure all clinical activities comply with governing regulatory standards.
- Administer clinical budgets focused on efficiency and resource optimization.
- Provide consistent updates and support to executive leadership and Board communications.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years clinical operations experience within biotech or pharmaceutical industries.
- Extensive leadership of Phase 1-3 clinical trials utilizing CRO-driven models.
- Prior experience in small biotech or startup environments.
- Proven ability to manage strategically and tactically, including hands-on execution.
- Successful track record managing vendors and meeting aggressive clinical timelines.
- Thorough knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and international clinical trial regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, people management, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline; advanced or nursing degree preferred.
- At least 8 years leading global clinical teams and external partners.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers an annual salary range from $290,000 to $325,000, variable by experience, skills, and location. Benefits include performance bonuses, stock options, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, year-end paid time off from December 25 to January 1, comprehensive medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company matching.
