About the Role

As a seasoned expert in sourcing and procurement, you will craft and lead enterprise-wide sourcing strategies that enhance supply chain resilience and support sustainable, long-term growth alongside vertical integration goals. This role demands balancing priorities such as cost efficiency, quality assurance, innovation, and operational effectiveness, while upholding commitments to organic standards, sustainability, and ethical supply chain practices. You will be responsible for managing a significant spend portfolio, generating cost savings, fostering value creation, and overseeing total cost ownership. Leading and developing teams, harmonizing cross-functional cooperation, and establishing strategic frameworks are key components of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow Strategic Sourcing and Procurement teams, enhancing capabilities in negotiation, supplier management, cost analysis, and risk mitigation.
  • Define organizational clarity on roles, decision rights, and processes while coaching team members through change and performance management.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs with leadership to ensure accountability and effectively communicate supply risk and sourcing strategies to executives.
  • Collaborate with leaders across Quality Assurance, Trade, Operations, Innovation, and Sustainability to align sourcing priorities with company goals.
  • Formulate and implement sourcing strategies integrating cost savings, inflation management, risk reduction, supplier innovation, and supply assurance.
  • Develop and execute long-term category strategies aligning with growth, margin targets, sustainability, and supply continuity.
  • Innovate sourcing models including direct sourcing, grower partnerships, regional networks, and strategic alliances to build competitive advantages.
  • Maintain oversight of all spend categories, prioritizing strategies based on business impact and sustainability.
  • Oversee supplier relationships, negotiations, contract approvals, and performance management programs that drive accountability and continuity.
  • Improve procurement operations by refining processes, governance, MRP utilization, purchase order management, and compliance.
  • Coordinate procurement with demand planning and sales & operations planning for cohesive supply chain execution.
  • Analyze and manage inventory health to reduce waste and ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Use market intelligence and commodity forecasts to plan sourcing and procurement initiatives that support company growth.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Over a decade of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, preferably within the food or consumer packaged goods industries.
  • Proven leadership capability with a track record of developing sourcing teams.
  • Experience sourcing organic ingredients and managing agricultural supply chains is highly desired.
  • Strong negotiation skills and supplier relationship expertise.
  • Familiarity with MRP processes and ability to leverage data for operational improvements.
  • Experience managing change and scaling procurement functions in high-growth scenarios.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, organic certification, and relevant compliance standards.
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership and executive influence skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree favored.
  • Ability to adapt and excel in a dynamic, mission-centered environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, participating in periodic in-person meetings despite predominately remote work.
  • Commitment to enhancing childhood nutrition and contributing positively to a purpose-driven company culture.
  • Residency in the United States is mandatory; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Full-time salaried exempt position with an expected salary range between $175,000 and $200,000, depending on qualifications and location.
