About the Role
RAIN Cements is looking for a seasoned Vice President to direct and manage Retail and Hypermarket operations at Arunachala Logistics Pvt Ltd in Hyderabad. This executive will oversee overall store performance, including P&L accountability, category oversight, sales target achievement, inventory management, and cost containment by implementing operational controls across all store-related verticals.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement innovative strategies to elevate retail business outcomes and align priorities with organizational performance goals.
- Identify growth opportunities and potential new business investments to optimize profitability.
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to design effective marketing displays both in-store and online.
- Select suppliers based on pricing, quality, and timely delivery criteria.
- Develop and monitor pricing strategies to maximize revenue, margins, and market share for product categories.
- Engage in assortment planning ensuring products meet customer preferences, quality, and pricing standards.
- Analyze pricing, consumer behavior, and market trends to recommend adjustments to product assortment and pricing.
- Drive sales enhancement and cost reduction through robust operational controls and precise financial analysis.
- Prepare and manage the store's budget, oversee expenditures, and conduct sales forecasts.
- Monitor stock levels daily, supervise store staff, and conduct regular store visits to gain operational insights.
- Ensure legal compliance and safety guidelines are met across stores.
- Maintain inventory levels and collaborate with category teams for replenishment and merchandising standards.
- Identify new store locations and oversee store launches.
- Develop and promote customer loyalty programs to improve retention.
- Support digital marketing and e-commerce operations by providing customer insights, coordinating with demand forecasting and warehousing, and collaborating with digital teams to enhance website performance.
- Maintain proper inventory practices using standardized storage, labeling, and automated picking systems.
- Use data and market research to accurately forecast demand and adjust safety stock levels accordingly.
- Evaluate inventory performance and devise strategies to reduce holding costs and manage slow-moving products.
- Plan manpower requirements, lead hiring efforts, and motivate staff with training and incentive programs.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- MBA or PGDM specializing in Marketing, Strategic Management, or Business Operations.
- 20 to 25 years of significant experience in large FMCG food and general merchandise operations within hypermarkets.
- Age preference between 45 and 50 years.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Creative thinker capable of generating innovative ideas.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Hindi and Telugu is desirable.
