Role Overview

The Vice Chairman of the Board is a key full-time leadership position based in Charlotte, NC, working in a hybrid capacity. Collaborating closely with the Chairman and the Board, this role helps define strategic direction, monitors critical projects, and ensures adherence to the organization's mission of student empowerment. Responsibilities involve attending board meetings regularly, evaluating organizational performance, advising executive teams, and assisting development of academic, business, and community initiatives. The position also manages governance procedures, cultivates strong relationships with stakeholders, represents the organization externally at various events and partnerships, and participates in fundraising, policy development, risk management, and ongoing organizational improvements.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership and governance skills emphasizing strategic decisions and cooperative leadership.
  • Expertise in organizational development, strategy creation, program management, and handling change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal talents, including public speaking, stakeholder engagement, and dispute resolution.

  • Financial and operational understanding covering budgeting basics, risk management, and performance tracking.
