Overview
Temple University's Department of Enrollment Management is seeking a strategic and experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Undergraduate Admissions. This leadership role involves shaping and implementing all recruitment efforts to attract and enroll a diverse and talented student population, including transfer students.

Primary Responsibilities
The AVP is responsible for providing visionary leadership to the undergraduate recruitment and admissions operations, ensuring alignment with the university’s overarching enrollment strategies. This includes:
- Developing staffing frameworks and budget plans that support enrollment targets.
- Collaborating closely with financial aid and IT departments to innovate business processes that increase operational efficiency and improve the experience of prospective students.
- Overseeing policies and procedures to streamline application processing.
- Managing and evolving SLATE, the university’s central CRM platform, while exploring emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence to enhance recruitment effectiveness.
- Building and guiding a high-performing admissions team that employs market analysis, territory management, and best practices to meet enrollment objectives.
- Partnering with senior enrollment leadership to harmonize recruitment efforts with student success initiatives and institutional goals.
- Fostering strong interdepartmental relationships campus-wide and with external stakeholders to cultivate a recruitment-focused culture.
- Contributing to the formulation and execution of a strategic enrollment management plan.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in higher education administration, enrollment management, or a related discipline is required.
- At least seven years of progressive leadership experience in enrollment management within the higher education sector.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Preferred candidates will hold a master’s degree in higher education administration, enrollment management, or a closely related field.
Required Competencies and Skills
- In-depth knowledge of enrollment management best practices and sector trends.
- Proven ability to develop and execute data-driven recruitment and enrollment strategies, including forecasting and target setting.
- Experience managing complex operations and supervising senior professional staff across multiple functions.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, particularly SLATE or similar platforms.
- Strong background in national recruitment and admission processes.
- Understanding of financial aid concepts, net revenue models, and aid administration.
- Knowledgeable about trends in student recruitment, enrollment marketing, demographic changes, and relevant higher education policies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working across divisions and with senior leadership.
- Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.
