About First Momentum Ventures

First Momentum Ventures is crafting one of Europe's premier early-stage venture funds. We started as students deploying €35 million through two funds, investing in about 50 pre-seed Deep Tech startups across Europe. Our portfolio companies have secured further funding from leading European and US investors. Our network consists of more than 100 members—mainly technical scouts, founders, and operators—dedicated to discovering outstanding technical founders ahead of others. Admission is competitive, accepting only 1 in 15 applicants, with strict community guidelines ensuring commitment beyond just branding.

Role Overview

This unpaid position offers performance-related referral rewards when investments succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify innovative startups and connect us to promising technical founders active in labs, hackathons, research groups, or launching their initial ventures.
• Serve as our local representative by engaging in events, university gatherings, and accelerator programs frequented by technical founders, facilitating easy access to our fund.
• Provide your specialized knowledge when assessing companies, especially in fields like semiconductors, robotics, climate technology, and AI infrastructure.
• Support portfolio companies beyond sourcing by making introductions, sharing domain expertise, and leveraging your ecosystem connections.
• Help shape our investment strategy by offering insight into your regional tech landscape, highlighting emerging research, founders to watch, and trending technologies.

Candidate Profile

• Strong technical background, whether as a computer science or engineering student, PhD researcher, startup operator, or founder, enabling meaningful interactions with highly technical individuals.
• Well-integrated within a European technology ecosystem, linked to academic institutions, research centers, or startup communities with awareness of ongoing innovation.
• Keen interest in Deep Tech and industrial innovation, tracking developments in domains such as TechBio, Energy, Manufacturing, and software development tools.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with proactive ownership of responsibilities and the ability to create and follow through on opportunities.
• Eagerness to learn about early-stage investing processes and willingness to invest time and effort.
