Role overview
SIXT is hiring a Vehicle Service Attendant for its Downtown Calgary branch. The role focuses on keeping the rental fleet ready for customers by cleaning, fuelling, moving, and checking vehicles, while also supporting the branch with day-to-day operational tasks. This is an outdoor-heavy position that requires working in all weather conditions. The pay for this role is $21 per hour.
Key duties
- Get rental vehicles ready by cleaning the outside, vacuuming and tidying the inside, and making sure each car matches SIXT’s quality and presentation standards.
- Carry out detailed vehicle checks, including damage, dashboard warning lights, windshield condition, tyre tread and pressure, fluid levels, fuel level, and general roadworthiness.
- Restore vehicle settings to default, clear previous customer data, confirm registration paperwork, and locate, record, and secure any lost-and-found items.
- Fuel, position, and arrange cars so the fleet stays available and branch operations run smoothly.
- Spot maintenance or safety issues, flag them promptly, and remove vehicles from service when needed to protect customers and employees.
- Provide helpful customer support when needed, including driving customers between branch locations where required.
- Keep the branch environment tidy and professional, covering work areas, customer spaces, restrooms, parking areas, and other indoor and outdoor zones.
- Show dependable attendance, arrive on time, and work productively in a busy team setting while following all safety procedures.
Skills and experience
This position suits someone with a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience in vehicle service or a related role. Background in car rental, automotive maintenance, or dealership operations is an advantage. Strong spoken communication, careful observation, and the ability to document vehicle condition accurately are important. The role also requires a valid provincial driver’s licence with a clean driving record, being 21 years of age or older, and authorization to work in Canada without current or future sponsorship. Candidates should be comfortable working 40 hours per week, including day or evening shifts, outdoors in all weather, and moving in and out of vehicles throughout the shift.
