Vehicle Engineering Leader - Special Vehicle Operations

We seek a Vehicle Engineering Leader who will play a critical role in delivering these extraordinary vehicles, engaging at the core of vehicle development across multiple engineering disciplines. This includes overseeing small volume, complex programs to ensure the quality, integrity, and detail aligned with Aston Martin's distinguished reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead vehicle engineering activities in coordination with the Vehicle Engineering Manager to drive technical integration and development throughout program delivery.
• Manage virtual, component, and vehicle-level design verification processes by facilitating critical technical checkpoints and gateways.
• Serve as the central point of contact for cross-functional engineering teams, collaborating with design, program management, engineering, purchasing, and product strategy specialists to ensure successful program outcomes.
• Monitor and report on program technical health, provide well-informed engineering recommendations, employ data-driven decision-making and resolve complex vehicle-level issues affecting delivery, performance, and customer expectations.
• Support target setting and vehicle evaluations in partnership with attribute and system teams, ensuring products meet performance, timing, quality, and engineering integrity standards consistent with Aston Martin's brand.
• Coordinate the implementation of Design Verification Plans (DVP) by overseeing validation activities in both virtual and physical testing environments to advance engineering maturity, program milestones, and risk management.
• Facilitate engineering discussions, support vehicle assessments, lead issue resolution, and contribute strategically to development approaches.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Proven experience as an automotive engineer with a comprehensive understanding of full vehicle development, systems integration, and engineering problem-solving.
• Familiarity with niche performance original equipment manufacturer (OEM) vehicle development and validation, including prototype builds, vehicle attributes, and technical calibration or system integration is highly advantageous.
• Self-motivated with strong ownership and accountability, able to work autonomously while uniting teams to address complex engineering challenges.
• Excellent communication skills with confidence in leading multidisciplinary team discussions, influencing stakeholders, and resolving issues effectively.
• A passion for developing exceptional vehicles, driven by technical challenges and the desire to contribute to some of Aston Martin's most exclusive and sought-after products.
