Position Overview

The UX Researcher and Designer will play a key role in elevating user experiences for federal agencies, including the Department of War. This role involves gaining a deep understanding of agency objectives, diverse user requirements, and relevant governmental policies while performing standard UX tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct user research activities such as interviews, surveys, quantitative assessments, and usability tests.
• Analyze collected data to develop user personas, journey maps, and other user-focused deliverables.
• Prepare research documentation and presentations.
• Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes under mentorship of senior designers.
• Participate in design critiques and review sessions.
• Apply UX best practices to create solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders effectively.
• Clearly explain design decisions and the reasoning behind them.
• Pursue continuous professional growth and remain updated on current UX trends and methods.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• 0 to 4 years professional experience in UX design or research.
• Solid grasp of user-centered design principles.
• Familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Proficient with design tools like Figma, ensuring organized files and strong prototyping skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to learn swiftly, critically evaluate own work, and adapt to evolving demands.
• Portfolio showcasing applied UX experience.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is preferred.
