Position Overview

The User Experience Researcher/Designer role at Bravo17 involves elevating user experience for federal agencies, including the Department of War. This position demands a deep understanding of agency missions, user needs, relevant policies, and standard UX responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting various user research methods such as interviews, surveys, quantitative data analysis, and usability tests.
• Interpret user data to aid in creating personas, journey maps, and other artifacts focused on users.
• Help prepare research reports and presentations.
• Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes with guidance from senior UX designers.
• Engage in design reviews and feedback sessions.
• Apply UX best practices to design solutions, emphasizing hierarchy, typography, and spatial arrangement, though advanced visual design skills are not mandatory.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design alignment.
• Clearly articulate design decisions and underlying reasoning.
• Proactively pursue personal growth and stay informed on contemporary UX trends and methods.

Qualifications and Skills

• 0 to 4 years of professional experience in user experience.
• Strong grasp of user-centered design philosophies.
• Basic familiarity with qualitative and quantitative user research approaches.
• Proficiency with design software, notably Figma, including good file organization and prototyping capabilities.
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Solid problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Quick learner with critical self-assessment and adaptability.
• A portfolio showcasing practical UX design applications.
• Preferred educational background includes a Bachelor's or Master's in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
