Role Overview
The UAV Drone Technical Sales & Flight Test Engineer plays a vital role supporting business growth in enterprise, government, and defense markets by leading technical demonstrations, conducting flight tests, and engaging customers. This role demands proficient UAV piloting, solid drone system understanding, and collaboration with R&D, procurement, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead live UAV product demonstrations, flight trials, proof of concepts, and customer evaluations.
- Engage in technical dialogues with clients such as enterprises, defense forces, Army, police, and government entities.
- Design and oversee flight test plans while adhering to DGCA regulations and safety standards.
- Manage product assessments, user acceptance tests, and on-site deployments.
- Compile technical documents, demonstration reports, and solution presentations to support sales activities.
- Collaborate with R&D for validation of new products, payload designs, and alignment with customer needs.
- Assist in preparation of Bills of Materials, payload setups, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams for component acquisition and product readiness.
- Contribute to drafting technical tender documents and ensuring compliance.
- Represent IZI at exhibitions, customer consultations, and defense demonstrations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Aerospace, Electronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience with UAVs, drones, robotics, or defense-related technologies.
- Proven ability to operate UAVs for demonstrations, testing, or deployment purposes.
- Solid technical knowledge of PX4/ArduPilot platforms, flight controllers, GPS/RTK, telemetry, payload integration, batteries, and mission planning.
- Experience in technical sales, customer demonstrations, or field engineering is advantageous.
- Familiarity with government agencies such as Army, Defense, CAPFs, Police, Disaster Management is a plus.
- Understanding of government procurement processes like GeM and defense tendering is preferred.
- Knowledge of DGCA drone regulations and flight safety protocols is essential.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Flexibility to travel frequently to attend customer meetings, conduct demonstrations, and oversee field trials.
