Role Overview
We are inviting applications for a Risk Investigator position based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This pivotal role focuses on protecting company assets, personnel, and customers through thorough management of criminal, accident, and liability investigations from start to finish.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive investigations into criminal acts, fraud within the company, and workplace incidents ensuring detailed preparation of case files ready for legal or disciplinary procedures.
- Develop and maintain networks of informants regionally, collaborating closely with the South African Police Service (SAPS) to promote prosecution success and recover missing assets or firearms.
- Lead periodic reviews and audits of security measures, cash handling, and surveillance systems to highlight and manage operational risks and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Contribute actively to health and safety initiatives by helping design annual safety programs, attending safety meetings, and enforcing national workplace safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum completion of Grade 12 education.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License.
- Certified PSIRA Grade B professional.
- Certified CIT (Cash-In-Transit) qualification.
- At least 5 years of direct experience in investigative roles.
- Holds a SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate.
- Provides a Statement of Results from either the Professional Firearms Trainers Council (PFTC) or the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA) verifying firearm competency for business purposes.
