Job description

About the Role

IZI is a rapidly expanding consumer electronics and technology company based in Bhopal. The business spans ecommerce, direct-to-consumer sales, offline distribution, and government/tender work, along with import and trade activity. This position is responsible for the company’s compliance and taxation core, making sure filings are accurate, records are defensible, and financial books stand up to scrutiny.

In short, this role fully owns the compliance framework for GST, TDS, tax and audit coordination, books finalization, notices, and the governance processes that keep the company audit-ready.

Key Ownership Areas

GST, TDS and direct tax compliance

  • Manage GST from end to end, including working on, reviewing, and filing GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual returns such as GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C.
  • Take charge of TDS compliance, including quarterly filings in 24Q and 26Q, reconciliations, and deposit planning.
  • Reconcile input tax credit against the books, identify mismatches early, and drive closure.
  • Work with the CA on income tax matters by sharing data, checking computations, and responding to queries.
  • Plan and schedule advance tax payments.
  • Regularly check the accuracy of HSN/SAC tagging across entries made by the Accounts Executive.

Books review and closure

  • Continuously review accounting books and ledgers through spot checks, not only at month-end.
  • Own the monthly close process so that entries are complete, properly classified, and accurate before closing.
  • Lead annual books finalization in coordination with the CA for audit, sign-off, and statutory submission.
  • Review the Accounts Executive’s work for quality and correct errors proactively.
  • Ensure account heads, narration text, and classification logic remain consistent throughout the books.

Compliance calendar and statutory governance

  • Maintain a master compliance calendar covering GST, TDS, income tax, ROC, PF, ESI, and other applicable obligations.
  • Own deadline management so filings are never missed.
  • Coordinate ROC compliance work such as annual filings, DIR-3 KYC, and board resolutions.
  • Support PF and ESI compliance in coordination with HR/Admin.

Audit management

  • Run the statutory audit process by coordinating with the CA, sharing books, tracking timelines, and managing sign-offs.
  • Handle tax audit preparation, coordination, and closure.
  • Keep records audit-ready throughout the year rather than rushing at the end.
  • Ensure documents are organized, complete, and easy to retrieve when needed.

Notices, SCNs, and compliance risk

  • Manage all show cause notices related to GST, income tax, customs, or any other department.
  • Draft or review replies and work with the CA, tax consultant, and legal counsel when needed.
  • Keep a live tracker for notices, deadlines, hearing dates, and status updates.
  • Identify compliance risks early and prevent issues before they turn into notices.

Banking documentation, debt support, and treasury

  • Prepare banking paperwork such as audited financial statements, CA certificates, and account statements for bank submissions.
  • Support debt and working capital requirements including OD/CC proposals, term loans, and NBFC submissions.
  • Handle financial data preparation, CMA working, ratio analysis, and projections for funding requirements.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of working capital loan, CC limit, or structured debt processes where relevant.
  • Identify government schemes and subsidies such as MSME, startup incentives, PLI, and R&D-related benefits and share actionable opportunities with management.

Payroll audit and administrative financial governance

  • Audit payroll to verify salary structures, PF/ESI deductions, and payout correctness.
  • Set up a structured monthly payroll review before every payout cycle.
  • Review admin expense claims to confirm they comply with policy.

What Success Looks Like

  • Compliance deadlines are never missed because the calendar is owned proactively.
  • If a GST notice comes in, the supporting documents are ready and a response is prepared quickly.
  • Monthly books close on time without management needing reminders.
  • The Accounts Executive improves over time because errors are corrected and reviewed consistently.
  • The company’s compliance position remains strong enough for due diligence or bank audits without panic.

Eligibility and Experience

This opportunity is for professionals with 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience in taxation and statutory compliance. You should have personally filed returns and managed compliance work, rather than only preparing data for others to submit. The role is based on-site in Bhopal and is full-time.

You should be able to independently handle GST notices or audits, understand Tally books well enough to review and correct entries, and manage CA coordination effectively. Strong attention to detail is essential, and missed deadlines or misclassified entries should genuinely stand out to you.

Preferred Background

  • Experience with debt capital documentation, including CMA data, bank proposals, OD/CC submissions, and NBFC paperwork.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, trading, ecommerce, or import-intensive businesses.
  • Experience with customs or import compliance documents.
  • Knowledge of ROC and secretarial compliance.
  • Experience identifying and applying for government schemes or MSME incentives.

Must-Have Expertise

  • Strong practical knowledge of GST, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C, and ITC reconciliation.
  • Hands-on TDS filing experience for 24Q and 26Q quarterly returns.
  • Ability to review Tally books and identify posting or classification errors.
  • Experience independently managing at least one GST audit or show cause notice.
  • Ability to work on-site in Bhopal on a full-time basis.
  • Relevant experience of 3 to 8 years in taxation and statutory compliance.

Additional Notes

The role is particularly suited to someone who can combine compliance discipline with practical ownership, follow-through, and preventive risk management across tax, audit, banking, and administrative controls.
