About the Role
This position is a one-year contractual engagement within the Forensic & Disputes team, focused on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) compliance. Continuation, renewal, or termination of the contract depends on individual performance and business needs. The role mandates working onsite at the office or client sites depending on project demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of transaction monitoring, sanctions, AML regulations, and compliance standards such as FATF, Wolfsberg principles, PMLA 2002, Bank Secrecy Act, and US Patriot Act.
- Conduct thorough research using internal and external databases to investigate funds transfer and check instrument transactions.
- Identify and analyze patterns, trends, and anomalies within complex transactional and customer data to detect and prevent suspicious activities including money laundering, terrorist financing, and structuring.
- Perform company and customer research utilizing online platforms and public records.
- Review customer profiles subject to further scrutiny and make informed risk assessments per KYC standards.
- Carry out KYC verifications, enhanced due diligence, file remediation, transaction monitoring investigations, and sanctions screening effectively.
- Investigate alerts and cases generated from automated AML systems or internal referrals, including performing 90-day SAR reviews.
- Maintain excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate strong client-focus and team collaboration abilities.
- Manage stakeholders and teams effectively, utilizing solid people management skills.
- Leverage strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet research, and computerized tools for daily tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate qualification mandatory.
- 1 to 7 years of relevant experience in transaction monitoring, AML/KYC compliance, consulting, or banking.
- Experience with financial services regulatory advisory, AML/KYC policy and program development, gap and risk assessments.
- Proficiency in suspicious activity monitoring including SAR preparation, transaction monitoring remediation, sanctions, PEP, and negative news screening.
- Hands-on expertise in AML/KYC system review, implementation, and process optimization.
- Any certifications like CFE or ACAMS in Financial Crime prevention are advantageous.
