Indaver is a European leader in sustainable waste management, with operations and facilities across Belgium, Germany, Ireland, and the Netherlands. The company’s waste-to-energy plant in Meath is the first facility of its kind on the island of Ireland. It handles more than 220,000 tonnes of residual waste each year and generates electricity equivalent to the needs of 22,000 homes annually.
Role Overview
As a TWM Waste Operative, you will join Indaver’s Total Waste Management team at the Haleon site in Dungarvan, County Waterford.
Key Duties
- Collect a variety of waste materials from around the site and move them to the designated waste handling area.
- Carry out manual loading and unloading tasks as needed.
- Prepare waste for onward transport by sorting, packing, consolidating, and repackaging it.
- Ensure waste is identified and stored in line with applicable regulations.
- Organize and record waste removals so they happen according to customer arrangements.
- Complete the required transport-related administration accurately and on time.
- Follow all safety procedures and instructions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy, and safe for daily operations.
Required Experience and Qualifications
A Leaving Certificate or equivalent is expected, along with 1 to 2 years’ experience in waste management or related work, ideally in pharma, production, or petrochemical environments.
Knowledge of hazardous waste handling or environmental practices would be an advantage. A forklift licence, Safe Pass, and manual handling certification are also beneficial.
You should be comfortable working independently as well as within a team. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and good communication skills are important for the role.
