Job description

Role overview

This position sits within the Infectious Diseases and Microbiology department at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and is planned to run from September 2026 through to the start of September 2027. The post is based at Hammersmith Hospital.

What the role involves

You will provide high-quality care for both inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases patients, taking an active role in clinical work, multidisciplinary team meetings, and wider departmental activities. The role includes participation in teaching, audit, quality improvement work, and academic seminars.

You will be working under the direction of infectious diseases or microbiology consultants, together with other medical colleagues. Clear written records and effective communication across the multidisciplinary team are expected. The post also offers chances to build leadership, teaching, and communication capability while gaining exposure to a wide spectrum of infectious diseases.

You will also participate in the General Medicine SpR on-call rota.
